Curious what the registration and match fees are for the Kelmscott colts and if these are being covered completely or partially by the club and was it the same last year. Not saying it's right or wrong just to find out how big a influence on numbers it has. Also how many will stay on to seniors if they have to then start paying? This is not just a Kelmscott issue all clubs have the issue. Know of a club where the colts will need to find nearly $400 for the season big money for some.

It is a tough one for clubs, great if you can get the sponsorship for the colts to offset fees but that is not the case for most clubs, our club has reduced annual and match day fees for the colts but I am sure it is still tough for some kids to find the money especially if they are students and do not have a regular income.Could be a bridge to far for some clubs to attract players if the fees are too high.Maybe something the league could look into in conjunction with clubs as community footy needs the young blokes coming through.

We made the decision this year that our Colts players under 18 would pay no membership fee and Colts players aged 19 or 20 pay $100 membership. Senior membership is $200 per year

Colts players pay $10 in 'ball fees'. This (just) covers the cost of the umpires each week and scoreboard attendants for home games.

Each registered player cost the club approximately $167 in 2015 in affiliation fees, trainers, medical supplies, insurance (Gold level), coaching costs, etc.

Dependent upon the actual ages of the Colts players, the policy is costing the Club about $4000 per year.

However, we see it as an investment in the long term future of our Club.

We also put time, money and effort into supporting and encouraging our affiliated Junior Football Clubs - also an investment into the future of our Club and the game generally.

Ive said this in previous seasons but surely the promotion of clubs should be based on the combined positions of the Leauge, Ressies and Colts. Therefore the stronger clubs in each grade get promoted. This stops the position of only needing a strong league side to move up.
The ladder positions at the end of the yr for each team should be allocated points i.e. 20, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. Therefore each team needs to be consistent for the club to go up the grades.
Now you can always double the points the points for the league sides to weight that more heavily but the idea being that the strongest 2 clubs will make the step up.
This will prevent teams from loading up their league teams to get in the GF and make the promotion at the expense of the rest of their club.
I also think this would drive the clubs to get the best out of their teams and make things exciting knowing that results in the last round by their teams could be the difference between promotion, relegation or maintaining their grade.

Got to give some credit to Kelmy! I don't think many teams would be able to go through what they have and do what they did today. Everyone knocks them and a lot of the time it's warranted but they always manage to hang in there. Amazing to win in A Grade when your Ressies don't score and lose by 40 goals.

Kelmscott fielded four sides on the weekend - three of them won. Half the club?

I dont think all 4 were at the same oval. Just feel bad for the ressies and more casual players.

Looks like another year where the only A Grade comments are all about people rubbishing Kelmscott. Surely there is someone out there in A Grade who is able to post something else about another club in A Grade. Surely not everyone wants to pick on Kelmscott. Generally most blokes at Kelmscott are pretty good blokes and like most clubs they have 2/3 dickheads no big deal. The club wouldn't be in A Grade if it wasn't well run so put that one to bed. The league is a good side and the reserves are no good again no big deal not the only club with that problem. and they have two good colts teams so someone must be doing something right. It appears that because Kelmscott is the only club from a working class suburb and all the rest of the clubs in A Grade are either college or Uni based or from affluent suburbs all the righteous people from those clubs want to pick on Kelmscott.
Kelmscott have had their problems no doubt no need to keep commenting about them. Hopefully we can get some A Grade input that doesn't involve Kelmscott.
