Fenton, don't take it to heart mate. I think you will find most of the stuff on this site is based on external rumours. You look at the grade predictions before the season starts and how each team is travelling I think you will find all clubs get some pretty interesting stuff written about them. But Kelmscott not having their reserves score put in you only put 2 and 2 together and is pretty average administration when you know what people will be thinking. To Kelmscott's credit they do look like they have been working hard with their colts the last two years and will be only good for their future if they want to stay in A grade.

To be honest Fenton, I think that a forfeit in the Ressies would have been the better result for the club.

I'm not sure what useful purpose there is for Kelmscott to remain in A Grade getting flogged every week. They would be better off playing in C1 and at least giving the players a reason to turn up.

It is a sad state of affairs and personally I think it was very poorly handled by the WAAFL Administration.

A Reserves
Kelmscott (AR) 0.0 0.0 0.0 5.5 (35)
Scarborough (AR) 0.0 0.0 0.0 26.10 (166)

When the ammo's changed the system to a league and reserves for each grades you were always going to get Kelmscotts current situation. Their reserves haven't been very competitive for a number of years. A number of clubs have a really good league side and an average reserves team, not to pick on Melville but their league side won promotion to B grade whilst their reserves finished near the bottom of C 1 reserves, how hard are their two going to find B. Reserves.
If Kelmscotts had been playing under the old system they would be A grade and their seconds would be playing J or K grade not A reserves.
If your club can't attract new players to give you good depths then this will continue to happen.
Unfortunately it's happening in our premier grade which isn't a good look.

I think its fair to say that for the past 20 years (as long as I can remember) league and ressies in the same grade. Its only really been Maddington & Kelmscott who have come into A grade with pretty much no ressies teams. Whether its be because its competitive for players out that way or my own personal opinion of using the old cheque book to attract players, your doomed in the long run.

Good on Kelmscott tho for being proactive in the colts area for 2016- its the only way to build a proper club.

Have heard that Kelmscott have actually approached the league to enter a second colts side for the rest of 2016. If that is the case, it is a fair effort considering the turmoil surrounding the club at the moment and hopefully an indication that the line in the sand has been drawn and they have finally accepted the changes that need to be made in order to ensure the future of the club. Undoubtedly will be some pain ahead this year and eve next year, but if they keep getting those sort of numbers you would think they will reap the benefits in 3-4 years.
