It should be noted that after surveying 66 club presidents, 76% of respondents either strongly disagree or disagree with the statement, "The WAAFL's Competition integrity committee was effective in monitoring and stopping the payment of players".

Only thing missing from that post was that only 50% of clubs responded. So 76% of 33 clubs.

So 25 clubs then? Even still, that is still 1 in 3 clubs saying that the WAAFL Competition Integrity is completely incompetent.
To put it in another perspective, the WAAFL's approval rating in this regard is less than the current PM's approval rating...

Looks like next year for the points system. Sooner the better.

It will stop clubs buying promotions to higher grades and stop clubs buying premierships.

We have a totally distorted system that favours rich clubs or their sponsors with deep pockets. It will also force clubs to look after their junior affiliates.

The WAAFL have called for nominations to form a working party/sub committee to investigate the future of the 'amateur' status of the competition.

I expect they would canvass other leagues and stakeholders around the country to form a recommendation to present to the WAAFL board at the years end.

This is a good positive step from the WAAFL. They have recognised an issue and have put in steps to work through it.

Exactly The Shiz. Hopefully the WAAFL and whoever they choose come to a sensible conclusion.
