How do you know exactly how he will turn out as Prez? I though his speech was gracious and measured, he may just turn out to be the best one they have had in decades. He said a few things to grab votes and beat the pollies at their own game, I reckon it's a breath of fresh air.

If you listened to his speeches leading up to the election to call them superficial would have given them more weight than they deserve. As for his claims about bringing back manufacturing jobs to the US his OWN BRAND of ties were manufactured in China.

I understand the electors have made their decision. I have never been so disappointed with an election result as the one yesterday. We appear to be losig all sense of humanity. The fact he has no experience in Gov concerns me a bit , but that can be overcome, perhaps its time for person from Business to have a crack and get things moving.

Everyone bagged Ronald Regan when he took the job, to old, a dumb ex actor etc, he ended up winning land slide elections , every state bar one second time around and got the economy moving hugely.

I quite liked Trumps words after the victory - quite magnanimous and focused a lot on getting working class people back to work on infrastructure works , he won the election by taking working class democratic voters in states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania , states the Republicans have not won since the 1980s.

Hillaries only line was vote for me, I'm a women , I like black folk and Mexicans and I'm the old guys wife, apart from that she had no interest in traditional blue collar working class voters and couldn't relate to them.. People didn't buy it and not even Women, Black or Latino turned out to vote for her in big numbers.

Great comment Baz. Everyone talked about Trumps polocys probably they where new and differnt to anything we have heard before.But still can't remember any of Hillarys polocys or Hillary trying to sell them.As Trump did at every rally he had.

It wouldn't be in Trumps best interest to pursue Hillary any further over the email scandal. He's got what he wanted, they have both been gracious in their acceptance and concession speeches anything said during the campaign should be put to bed and everyone moves on for the better.

If Donald Trump can make good with all his promises and visions for America the world will be a better place. Anyone with fears there's going to be WWIII, a nuclear war etc if you watched his acceptance speech he stated he wanted to get along (words to that affect) with all countries through participation not conflict.

I think that's where his business nouse will be an advantage rather than a default political strategy politicians run with where a lot gets said but very little gets done. He also said in relation to trading partners while he will always put Americas interests first he wants to be fair reasonable with the interests of other countries.

Personally I think it's refreshing to listen to a bloke who wants to fix his countries problems and make it strong again for all people and is inclusive on his speech about relations around the world. There was nothing in his speech to suggest there was going to be some major conflict around the corner.

You may be waiting awhile Peter, he still has to organise the meeting with Mexico when he takes over to get them to pay for the wall to be built.
It's not surprising so many Americans took him seriously as they are a strange mob but it's funny to see Australians believe a reality tv person.
