Great knock by young Wyllie, a  good mature grafting knock by the 19 yr old painter....though not sure  it was to everyone's liking, but hopefully WA can build a substantial 1st innings lead and roll Victoria out on day 4 without batting again.

Not sure who the 8 yr old is actually here big fella,  but good to see you up n about firing  on all  cylinders so early on into the Sheffield Shield season....beats watching paint dry I guess.

Bad luck for young Wylie to miss out on his ton, definitely a prospect for higher honours in a few years.
WA kept Victoria out in the field and wicketless for most of the day. They have set it up perfectly for guys like Phillipe, Hardie and Turner to accelerate the run rate and amass a huge lead by tea time tomorrow. Then 4 sessions to bowl the Vics out.

Agree mikeh, that would be the plan. Not all about Bazball, sometimes patience and  attrition is needed to wear down the bowlers, allowing others to cash in later on..

Wyllie is no different to any young apprentice learning their trade. Touch wood he ignores any irrelevant white noise and continues to develop his game....got a great future ahead of him....hopefully with the bat and not the paint brush.

Whichever way this game goes tomorrow, credit has to go to Voges and the WA selectors for putting a side out on the park that has comprehensively outplayed the Vics over the past 3 days.  The WA attack is a 2nd XI squad apart from Hardie and perhaps now Repacholli has taken over from Agar as the number 1 red ball spinner. But they have taken 13 wickets for around 320 runs so far in a team effort, whilst the batsmen paced their innings perfectly to grind out a 200+ lead
A brilliant 3 days of cricket so far, now just 7 wickets and maybe a small chase needed to finish it off.

Well the Vic's definitely donned their painting overalls today.....crawling or should I say painting their way to an innings defeat. 1 more wicket for the WA bowlers to secure, with 30 odd overs left.

Regardless what  happens, the depth of WA cricket on full show here. Fantastic performance by WA across all disciplines....more so the bowling, with a number of 1st choice bowling options missing. Voges must be living the dream, having such a deep squad of players at his disposal.

Gee that is a good first up win by WA knocking off a virtual full strength VIC side by an innings and plenty.
I must admit when I saw the 2 sides announced before the toss I thought we might be up against it but with a near 2nd XI we have smashed the mob we have knocked off in the last 2 Shield Finals.
Hats off to all involved and great to see the inexperienced crew of Wyllie, Rocchicoli, Haskett, Goodwin & Stobo showing how good our depth is.
