Sorry to hijack your conversation boys :P , but can I ask the EF blokes a question? Does anyone think that Wylie will bring any players in with his contacts? Anyone know any names? As freeze keeps on about - we desperately want a goal kicker. Or is this too early to look at?

58, I saw the Northern Blues(Carlton's affiliate side) play this year, they were awful, don't think there is much there for EF to hope for. TBH if Hampson is fit, BOB and perhaps Duffy comes back to EF if delisted by Freo, they are all potentially good for 35 - 40 goals each up front.....Cripps, Ellis and Howson are all young talls with futures if fit....also reckon young 199cm Luke Strnadica might get a league gig as well after his u/18 commitments next year.....

definitely need one or two tall defenders to help the likes of Jupp, Chartres and Read up back.....also some leg speed as well....ruck wise Fletcher looked promising, whilst young Cronan(though skinny) is quite mobile for a tall....be interesting to see what Wiley brings to the table....when he coached Perth last, he was only 33/34 years old, fresh from playing....now at 62 yrs old, a lot of water has certainly travelled under the bridge since then, positive that he has stayed in the game at the highest level though....time will tell I guess, on who and what Wiley can bring to the EFFC.....very tall ask though for instant success when the club is competing against the likes of EP, Peel and Subi on the financial front of things....you can only attract what you can afford come end of the day!

I'd like to think there was a bit of Symmetry with the early 80's here! We bought in big Ron and look what happened. Mind you, Ron wasn't 62 yrs old....and we need a Colin Waterson!!

Good roll up tonight to meet the coach. Particularly large group of young people other than players attended. Apparently a big group of Notre Damme uni students attend the club for the Friday night session and the bar takings have improved significantly.

Also believe he announced Jacob Brennan as back line coach,, where does that leave brown who has done it last 5 years . They also need a mid and forwards coach . Philip Matera, good mate of Wiley's !! But he is still a bloody bulldog

Surely you mean Michael Brennan GF?....Jacob must be only 25/26 tops and a candidate to play league if fit? Probably need to a clean out of coaches with Wiley taking over anyway....

Sorry Freez, but Jacob it is. I also hear that Michael will be on the Board as director of coaching, so its " all in the family '. I think Jacob had an injury at Westcoast that has never healed, so believe his playing days are over.

Freeze I believe his big strength is development so you will do well.
He will be totally different to when he coached Perth, he has spent the 25 odd years in the AFL system.
Although I think he did spend some time with WAFL in State development role. If I'm correct.
You have picked up a good coach I think.
Time will tell.
More good poaching from the poor old Dees.
