Believe Pickering was an applicant but didn't make the final cut,. Dwyer not on the list. I think Wiley if he wants, but Dodd firming . Need someone to restore the culture of effc, and the brand. And , gain some respect back. Starts at the top....

ok GF....seems to me you are privy to who is on the list mate.....come on mate hand it over for all to see or are you doing it post by post to look inconspicuous? ;) ....Wiley, Dodd appear to be on it, Pickering was on it but now not, Dwyer not on it....who else was on it mate?......who do you want GF?

do you think Dodd has the credentials/experience/expertise to revamp the clubs culture and brand?....sounds like a WAFL icon like Wiley might.....this next coaching appointment is gonna be a big one in terms of where the club goes TBH....

....from all reports some good youngsters coming through the ranks, the new coach must be development orientated, be able to attract some decent recruits and keep the senior players sweet....looks like Harry Marsh might be on his last legs at Sydney, Duffy at Freo, perhaps Griffen too.....Simpson to try again perhaps......

One thing for sure Mcmahon = no Duffy. So no Mcmahon .Not sure Marsh is exactly setting the world on fire in NEAFL either. Griffin would be great. Simpson dont hold your breath waiting. J Jansen mayby.Colts most size wise are all fairly small and may take a year of ressies to find their feet. May need to look outside the backyard.

think we really need to be aggressive in terms of recruiting this year. A lack of a genuine ruck man and a key target up forward who can regularly kick bags is what is needed. Would hate to see the job go to McMahon. Not sure if Dodd showed enough in his spell as coach. Just hope who ever is given the reigns is someone who can attract talent to the club.
Seems as though that star studded midfield might need to be shipped elsewhere, that even goes towards ROB. As harsh as that may sound, and i understand he is the captain, he is a very selfish footballer. Again, I understand he is a Sandover Medallist, but just my opinion.

Reckon a high profile name coach would be required to attract quality recruits to the club. Every clubs wish list would be experienced key position players but they don't fall out of trees and therefore sometimes you have to develop your own. This takes time I accept, but you also need to focus on what you have and not always what we would like to have. A key experienced forward would certainly take the pressure off Ellis and Cripps and allow them to develop but I think we also are in trouble with a decent size key defender or two as well.

Agree we are now without a genuine ruckman and Griffen would be a welcome return to the club. Would be very surprised if McMahon got the job with his record and all the negative press while he was at Perth. Our mids this season got plenty of numbers but we really lacked enough inside ball winners, I think that Schleicher is probably one but is still developing. Leg speed is another issue with our midfield, we don't have any Bourne types who can run and carry and break the lines. Big wish list over summer no doubt but do we have the funds to fill all areas?

Not getting Menegola was a real blow this year and with Yeo things could have been much different. Troppo could not get a regular spot in our league side, goes to Perth and is a Sandover Medal favourite. No doubt would have fitted in nicely this season. Can't focus on the negatives I suppose but let's hope we get this appointment right.

Definitely need some tall boys up back, not knocking the efforts of Chartres,Jupp and Read up back but the latter two due to size will be vulnerable against opposition tall forwards......up front the likes of Cripps, Ellis and Howson(if ever fit) have the potential to be long term goal kickers for the club.....also leg speed seems to be the clubs achilles heel as well....yeah Simpson and his motivation may always be in doubt, but he definitely has the leg speed to worry other oppositon mids/defenders...

Griffen would be a great mentor for Fletcher, Solomon and Cronan, his size and experience would be great up front as well when resting....a forward line of Duffy(?), BOB and Hampson along side the likes of Cripps, Ellis and perhaps Howson(if/ever fit) could have some impact on the score board....if they can kick straight that is....the likes of BOB, Hampson and Duffy are mercurial to say the least....but as folk have said if McMahon gets the job then Duffy would't come back if delisted.

Hopefully the new coach would have some player pulling power, can't see the likes of a Dodd being in that category, really only Wiley fits that description due to his time within the AFL....but is he a good senior coach?....

are there any players from other clubs who folk here are decent who might be seeking some league opportunities?... Williamson from EP seems to have come on over the last 2 years....EF through numerous injuries this year, did lack depth in their development side.....be interested to see how the likes of Cronan, Snadden, Adamini, Bennett, Harrold, Parish, Fowler etc go next year playing senior footy if still at the club....

so it is either mcmahon or dwyer, oh well Perth will have some competition next year if mcmahon gets the gig, don't know what luke would be as a coach but always worth a try i suppose.
