Tough for Perth - if only he wanted to come back last year ??? Perth would have grabbed him and it would have been a fairy tale comeback. Timing is everything - but luck comes into it. Well done EF a great pick-up and a new broom. Time for the players and management to stand up. EF list has looked good - unlucky last year, not good enough this year but every reason to be optimistic for next season. A few new recruits and the young guys developing and stepping up will go along way to the Sharks getting back into the finals which is vital for the club and the success of the WAFL in the future. If EF and SF get back into the finals the WAFL will be in a much better place !!!

Not really Chopper, last year he was not on the market as he was assistant to his best mate Mick Malthouse.
This year, he has been lured to EF probably with the help of his brother in law Michael Brennan. Isn't Brennan on the EF board?

30+ if my memory is correct I think that Vince Pendal may heve been the president of PFC when Wiley was coach (at least one of the years).

That was my point DF that he's a year to late for Perth and "If Only"
It could have been a good fit but for unfortunate timing? I did know he was still at Carlton last season. Anyway Spalding looks like he's heading in the right direction for you guys ???

Yes consensus is that Spalding is doing a good job.
Just need to back him with some recruiting.

Not sure but a couple of things i do remember about Robbie is he can fire up when addressing the players, which surprised me at the time.
He may have mallowed a bit since then.

Also in his first season as CC he led us to a memorable victory at leederville oval against West Perth and if memory serves me right we were about 53 points down at half time and fought back and won quite easily in the end.
I managed to get into the rooms after the game and the atmosphere was electric.

Yes I remember that game 30 Plus. We had a good side in '88 with Yorgey, Santostefano, Mount, Montgomery, Ryder and others. Unlucky to miss out on the finals. We needed Claremont to beat EF in the last game of the season, and even though Claremont were on top and the game was at Claremont oval they lost.

Yep we played Swans at Basso that day last game of the season and did a number on them relying on Claremont to win for us to play finals.
Everyone was tuned into there radios at Basso after the game listening to the last 10 or so minutes of that Claremont game...Bastards!

Big Stinger Rea played ressies that day and kicked 12 or 13 (or more,i cant remember the exact ammount) in what was his last game for us before he retired...i think??
