How incompetent is the CEO and Board??? What an absolute farce. It’s amazing the EF teams haven’t capitulated.

I am willing to reserve judgment at this point BUT it is looking that way. What is very disappointing is that when a certain football reporter said EFFC would not play at their oval this season, club president Mark Stewart responded that we most certainly would and without delay! Just the tip of the iceberg on this really, but it was a barefaced lie.

I think the true financial black hole and impact this mess has caused is yet to be revealed by your board, it well known the WACA move was dud and they lost thousands and now this delay well its anyone's guess, and that is before you get to the plan for no gates and the failed bit to charge for derbies plus no having sponsors signs on the ground is a huge blow for money.

But if WPFC are anything to go by you should be fine just bring in the administrators offer everyone 2 cents and walk away like nothings happened.

geez more games at Leederville makes no sense, we already have 2 clubs playing and training there, the surface has struggled over the years just to cope with that, why not use one of the single club venues, Lathlain would be the obvious choice, it has the best playing surface in the comp.
Lathlain seems a more obvious choice to me - two ovals out there as well.

I saw the stands being built at Bunbury’s Hands Oval recently. Bloody hell, makes the sharks facilities look like the Popanyinning Oval shed.
I believe that’s not South Bunbury’s though, it is the SWFL

I was at North Beach's home ground today. Nice set up. They have a better scoreboard than leederville oval. Grass seems in pretty good nick. So is it true that east Fremantle will play all their games at Fremantle oval from  next year on?

Anything is better than nothing - which is the situation for East Freo and a scoreboard. Disgraceful that the old scoreboard was removed. But anything blue and white or related to the EFFC it would seem is forbidden to be on display at the redeveloped ground.

I'd like to say I'm shocked and surprised, but I'm not.....Dear Members, Sponsors and Fans,

We are writing to share a further update regarding the new facility at East Fremantle Community Park.

Last Wednesday, independent turf specialists undertook extensive testing of the oval. While there has been progression, there remains a handful of small areas that were flagged as non-compliant.

We have been in frequent and ongoing communication with the Town of East Fremantle and Programmed (turf contractor) since Wednesday and have received confirmation that additional work will be undertaken this week.

Cam Sutherland – former WACA curator – is now leading this project. Cam is confident that the work being undertaken this week will position the oval to be deemed safe for play this season. The threshold for a new oval surface is higher than an existing surface, so we will continue to work with the turf experts and West Australian Football Commission to ensure all necessary work is undertaken to give us the best possible chance of getting onto the ground this year. The oval will be re-tested mid-July.

As a club we have expressed our disappointment at this ongoing delay, and we are working to finalise an alternative venue for our game on July 13, which will be confirmed shortly.

We understand that there is a disappointment each time there is a date proposed, only for it to be postponed. We have followed the advice of turf experts each time that the ground would be viable to play on this year. The board is currently investigating exactly what has gone wrong with the oval.

We have taken a firm stance in engaging local government and we will continue to fight for the Club’s right to thrive as an important part of the local community.

We don’t deserve anything less – and we won’t accept anything less.

In the meantime, let’s continue to support our players while we work through these challenges. Our Women’s League side has secured their spot in the Grand Final this Sunday July 7 as they chase back-to-back premierships against Claremont at Joondalup. Our Men are playing this Saturday against Perth at Mineral Resources Park.

So, let’s get behind the players and continue to unite for the Blue & White.

Maybe Cam can drop in a couple of pitches so you can host a few Shield and women's matches there and recoup your losses.
