Thanks for the info from me too KC - I find it hard to keep up on club happenings.
Maybe Bill will get this year to consolidate, then next year to get deep into September. He’s a proven coach, so hopefully will achieve something good.

Hope it does work out with Monaghan. Some worrying signs during the shortened season did begin to emerge though. Hopefully things get sorted and start to improve very quickly for all of our sakes. Hope the players are right regarding jono Marsh too.

What were the worrying signs, Ti Em?? I thought it was an unlucky year. The only thing that annoyed me was the selection at times. Especially Mills and Monaghan Jr. I didn’t see much of Ressies- but most thought a few others deserved opportunities. Most are still here bar Robinson and Watson- who have gone seeking opportunity.

The way we played - it seemed to regress. It was often awful to watch. Yes we did lose quite a few close ones but against Perth and Claremont we left it too late after playing some of the worst football i have seen. At a 3rd quarter time address at one match the coach told the team - "you are this sort of team". It may work - it didn't last season though. Steadfastly sticking by certain players - not trying others. Playing Jansen in the ruck - though that could be down to the shortened quarters and Bailey as forward.
The year is nearly behind us and a season probably written off early - we got some games into the likes of Bockman, Murdock and Murphy. You have to hold hope in the future - what else can you do?

Interesting observation. I too have often thought Bill talked down to the players a bit or was more negative than I would’ve thought at the breaks I’ve ventured out to. Seems to be an old school approach but one that has worked for him in the past. But this squad is clearly a developing one that maybe needs more encouraging. Who knows but this is a pretty big year for Monaghan I would’ve thought

I agree FF2, but I’m not sure how Bill and his team are with the players day to day. His players do seem to be loyal to him though. He’s probably is a similar vein to Ross Lyon- many enemies waiting to sink the boot in when the fall comes. As for those older guys, probably best a few of them moved on. Agree with Griff- he’ll be a massive loss

I think you Perth guys forget how Leggett came to EF. After grandstanding and taking the high morale ground for 6 months, you dumb pricks took him off a protected list for EF to swoop in.

I mean, c’mon. Surely you wouldn’t want to keep bringing it up??? Move on FFS

Haven't read or heard anything about Monaghan getting an extension, so one would think the club is seeing how Monaghan goes in 2021, before committing to his EF future.

Interesting to read concerns about the age of certain regulars, yet a 34 year old will be greatly missed? Yep Griff was a leader, but surely there are plenty of clubs around with a core experience group around that 28-32 year old bracket....all of EF recent recruits look like ready made future replacements for that core EF group over the next few years.
