Are you going to stand at the front gate gate of the oval with a thermometer and check the patrons as they enter.

you need to get out more RSM
checking people when they enter the building ?
my building is 20 floors and that hasnt happened since Covid started ?
you better wrap yourself in glad wrap if you ever come into the city or catch public transport until there is a vaccine.

Thanks for the advice, I wont be going to Perth or catching Public Transport.
though my children tell me that they are checked every time they enter their building in Perth so I can only assume that your building is full of like minded persons to yourself.

Settle boys. We're all in this together remember.

I reckon temperature checks will become more common for entry into public areas and I reckon that's our best hope of getting crowds into the WAFL games. That and the app and bingo, you've got screening and traceability and that should be enough to enable some sort of crowd to be present.

And members first. That might incentivise people taking up club membership.

I'm with MO on this one. It seems ridiculous to me that according to Sneakers it's ok for me to sit next to someone on a train for half an hour but I can't sit in the terraces at Leederville by myself to watch footy. To take up trsm's point if it rains, common sense would suggest I wouldn't huddle under shelter with a large group...I'd simply take an umbrella to the game and stay right where I was.

Sympathise MO, looks like your non essential in the health dept. like me!!!???..

The gun thermometers have been found to be as effective as trying to do a drop kick on Moorabbin Oval in the middle of winter.

the economy comes first when it comes to public transport and shopping centres but not watching wafl in the fresh air

I am an Aussie Rules die hard and have attended the WAFL for over 55 years yet it bewilders me that with everything else that is going on that some think a priority should be for the restart of football, all codes and with crowds.
Get a grip people, without the measures taken by our elected representatives we could be like Italy, Brazil, UK and the USA.
How many lives would you sacrifice for a football match.
We always have the percentage of people that think rules are put in place for everyone else. Take a Bex, lie down and wait for the people that know best to complete the plan that has so far saved us from missery,

Fair dinkum mate I think you are off track.

We all accepted the restrictions and cancellation of sport months ago as an important step to control and flatten the curve.

And that's what was sold to us the whole time, to control the virus so to help the health system, and we did that in spades, all parties did a good job and for weeks now it has been obvious there is no community transmission in WA.

To compare us to Italy and the US is ridiculous we have never come close to those numbers and community transmission never took hold because we got an early start on it.

We have now more that achieved flattening the curve.

There is zero point in maintaining local restrictions at the current level, and no reason why 1500 people could not go along to a large suburban ground watch a game and have a few beers.

As said before at Garden City or Claremont Quarter there are 1000s of people all packed in together, and there hasn't been a single case of anyone picking up the virus, its not going to happen standing outdoors at Fremantle Oval.

Agree 100% and we were told if we take these drastic actions now, the sooner we can get back to normal. Now it seems they want to drum into us some of these restrictions are going to be permanent.

Apparently they going to blitz it with testing workers who are exposed to a lot of human contact who have no symptoms over the next two weeks to test if there are people who have it but don’t know it. Hopefully out of that they come up with zero cases and that gives the govt the confidence to lift ALL restrictions including the 1 person to every 4 square metres rule because that’s the one that’s really holding back business and sport.

I'm still working from home as we're moving into new offices and they wont be ready until July but on a normal working day I'm catching 4 buses and 2 trains in total to get from North Coogee to the city and back again and I'm not overly keen on no social distancing on public transport I can tell you.

I too have been back on the train and bus for the last few weeks, plenty of space and people on the train/bus seem to be very conscious of social distancing

Yep, its a scientic fact you are far safer from viral infection outdoors in fresh air than any indoors place.

All the kids are at school, my office is full, my shops are full, myers are open, the courts i work in are full, i go for a walk in Kings Park is full, Cottesloe Beach Walkway is full as is the lawn terrace...

I mean FFS, why cant I sit at Freo Oval?
