Independent arbitrator used to sort out situations like this one. I was told this so called independent arbitrator was a former WP official but I can't confirm that. Kietel was highly rated at EP we placed him with the Eagles after the draft to prepare him for a big year and address his short comings. He was made aware of Smith being unlikely to play again and that opportunity is there for him. I do agree with the belief he didn't want to stay at EP because of several factors. I had to laugh watching the colts last week when a kid from our team missed the 22 he and his dad stormed out yelling the alignment was to blame for his son missing out. I don't think the alignment can be blamed for this but it is a tool being exploited by player managers and opposition clubs. My personal view is we owe WP a key forward or two.

i think larry bird is a wanker. he goes on about the keitel issue like its the end of the world. he questiones whats dean turner got do to with the situation. my hearing aid tells me this, dodo birdbrains, dean turner is the fellow that is the negotiator down at feral land and he has a fowl mouth with no respect, perhaps dropped as a child, didnt have any toys as a child or the poor bugger had a black and blue football as a child. larry birdbrain the kid wants to play at west perth, end of story, let him go birdbrain, let him choose his path, if his path is covered in glory then good on him no thanks to you birdbrains.

I think you will find your wrong as usual regarding chief negotiators etc etc. Keep trying you will get something right one day.

One would find it difficult to rationalise the view that he has all these shortcomings, apparently, yet the club formerly known as East Perth want to keep him. Very, very strange.

Grump will disagree with me but his short comings are mainly above the shoulders. His on field potential is very high, he might turn into a WAFL star in a few years or an AFL role player. Speaking to an official of the club he said we would be negligent not to try to keep the best junior forward to come through our club for twenty years.

By what others have said maybe Keitel thought he was the best junior forward to come through the club in twenty years.
