Freezin, Brayden Hackett seems another good one to go after, turns 19 in early Feb so he would still be able to train with us for 6 weeks before round 1 as well.

have Ron and Bruce given you any advice over this ?

btw the transfer rules are quite simple even for you Barney:

A player is eligible to transfer between WAFL Clubs should they satisfy the following criteria.
d) Is 19 years or older, is a 40 listed player, is not contracted and satisfies one of the following:
vi. Has not played 40 games in any grade in five (5) seasons. Games missed while suspended or included on the long term injury list do not count.

For those playing at home here is both sections of the transfer rule that were argued.

A player is eligible to transfer between WAFL Clubs should they satisfy the following criteria.
b) Is 19 years or older and is not included on the current WAFL Club 40 list.
d) Is 19 years or older, is a 40 listed player, is not contracted and satisfies one of the following

Now one says you can't transfer if you are in the protected 40, the other says you can. So both teams are correct and the other 6 teams were arguing section B of the transfer rules should over ride section D. In fact the WAFC argued that the word "not" was left out of section D.

Now after the arbitration decision all clubs have to do is contact the players parents, tell them to not sign any contract with their current club and the day their boy turns 19 we'll have a contract for you that is double what your current team is offering.

Whether I think that is right or wrong is irrelevant. The fact I am waiting for the fallout of this verdict come next years transfer season is all that matters. Just trying to let you know what is ahead of you so it will be all the more enjoying to watch your dummy spit.

Barney - i know you are having trouble with this one but if you read what the arbitrator said it was very clear but i will put it here for you again -

"WAFL arbitrator Brendan Taylor found the rules were clear on the matter and allowed Keitel to move clubs.

It is understood that Taylor advised the WAFL to rewrite their rules if they did not reflect the competition’s view on transfer eligibility "

Therefore if these football managers who voted 7-2 over a rule they didnt clearly understand want the rules changed then they have to change it themselves.

have you spoken to Ron and Bruce about this ?

Sounds like a plan mate.......pretty sure if you offer the kid a brand new fridge / freezer full of food, a washing machine that automatically picks up, cleans and folds away his laundry and give him a self refuelling car to drive around in you will seal the deal...Subi could be his 2nd home I guess......dont think SD could offer him a deal like that.....I guess all he would get next year is a couple $6 hotdog coupons or $8 hot chips coupons at each home game from SD.

If you buy the chips in the Swans' members' area they are a lot cheaper than $8.00. How much are they at the rugby in NZ?

42.....the kiwis buy "chups" at the rugby mate ;) .....not too sure only been to a few games over here and that is only when my mate's work scores a VIP box once or twice a year.....other than that no desire to watch the game what so ever.....tickets are like gold dust anyway especially in Christchurch, every man and his dog wants a ticket....
