Not letting a person who is willing to play football is embarrassing, for a player should be able to play wherever they want. In the end a 19 year old was denied a chance to play football and that's what it comes to, I don't care if they are a superstar or a first gamer, everybody should have the right to play the game.
East Perth and the Football Commission should be embarrassed.
Reading in today's paper it appears it should be resolved this week.

Why should EP be embarrased they stood up for what they considered right, WP and the boy did the same. it was the WAFC process that is flawed and was recognised by the arbiter.

East Perth for denying somebody an opportunity to play football.
Football commission for having a flawed system.

Did East Perth say no to the permit or was it a case of at the 11th hour someone realized (Probably from Wanneroo not West Perth) that they needed a permit from East Perth for Keitel to play and didn't have one. Or did East Perth at the 11th hour change their mind and say no to Keitel playing. If they had never approved the permit the who said it would be OK to play in the first place if they didn't have approval. Pretty sure after the last couple of months I would make sure of the facts before advising Keitel he can play footy at Wanneroo. East Perth may be playing hard ball but someone appears to of been negligent in advising him he could play on the weekend.

My understanding was he was told by the WAFC (West Australian Football Commission) he could play, West Perth asked if he could play. Signed a permit and wasn't cleared by East Perth. Not once, not twice, but three times was a clearance lodged and it was denied.
All because of $$ I presume. Which is quite sad, as I said because it denies a person from playing football.

So it wasn't at the 11th hour at all if it was denied not once, not twice but three times. It was pretty clear well before the 11th hour that he wasn't going to be playing so what with the 11th hour sob story. Its not about just wanting to play football because he would have been doing that at East Perth. His decision to move was based on what he thought was best for him and this was always going to upset those who had supported him and his goals through earlier years.

Why don't people who have queries ring East Perth and ask them for answers.

I am sure they will be only too pleased to answer you.

Awesome news in the paper that all colts players are available to transfer clubs for a minimal fee. Should make recruiting a lot cheaper.

They have always answered my questions.

You never believe anything an East Perth supporter says on here anyway so why not try.

And Barney; what paper was that in?

its pretty simple Barney or did you not read the whole article ?

"But WAFL arbitrator Brendan Taylor found the rules were clear on the matter and allowed Keitel to move clubs.

It is understood that Taylor advised the WAFL to rewrite their rules if they did not reflect the competition’s view on transfer eligibility."

and Keitel is not a colts player, he is too old for colts which is why under the current rules he was allowed to move to West Perth.

Why would the WAFC and the clubs vote on something before they and the WAFC got independant advice on the matter ?
We all know some people there and running clubs are not very bright and this doesnt help them.
