I wouldn't laugh it off 30plus, there is a distinct possibility it is true. Trevor Williams to assist and possibly take over the reserves.

I very much doubt it would be true,it was probably a throw away line mocking our inability to appoint someone already in a vacancy we knew about 3 months ago and if it was to be true all i can say is FMD are we in that bad a shape!!

I know it doesn't sound ideal but it might only be for one year which buys them time to see who might be available next year. It would be along the lines of what I suggested earlier, that is give the job to Trevor Williams for a year if there are no outstanding candidates. I wouldn't dismiss a bloke with over 300 games of league experience. He might be better than you think.

Nup not for me,not even Trevor Williams and the ammount of times he has said he doesnt want it,you dont want someone who has to be coerced into a position they dont want.

Time is one thing we dont have.
The ammount of members, supporters, sponsors old and new that you would lose in that 1 year of waiting..you just wouldnt get them back, most would not be prepared to see that sort of thing happen.
I know i wouldnt.

I still hold out some hope(albeit not much hope) that they have there eye on someone who perhaps is still coaching a team in finals footy in the VFL,SANFL etc....

Didn't Trevor Williams just finish the season with ten losses in a row or close enough to it, add in his ten wins out of sixty odd games might as well close the doors if he gets the job.

We had a lot of injuries in the time Williams was in charge. I wouldn't take his time at Peel into account as league coach. Didn't he lead their colts to 2 flags? He communicates well with the players. Anyone who bothered to listen to his addresses couldn't help but be impressed. We need someone in charge soon to assess the list and map out a pre sseason training program.

I dont think you can just ignore his league time at coaching Peel,he was there senior coach and coaches are judged on there win/loss record.
Maybe his calling is at underaged level.

As a supporter i want this club to go forward and imo appointing Williams as senior coach albeit just for 1 year would be a step backwards.

Yes we need a coach now and applications close in 2 days so hopefully there is that bloke for us on that shortlist!

Then going by Peter Germans record as Peel's head coach he must be no good. Coaches are only as good as the cattle they have at their disposal. All I'm saying is we have two blokes with a ton of experience and they should not be dismissed. This club has been very thin in the area of people with football experience and knowledge in the past so I for one appreciate having Williams and Marty on board.
