WAFC have no money going by yesterdays paper. Secondly why should they give any funds to a Club that does not make considerable administrative and board changes. Its not money it culture that makes the difference. Alignment with WCE might be best option

From what I've heard and read from Marty, there were reasons that some were not considered at the time but now time has been extended they might have to reconsider those applicants who probably have commitments and couldn't be interviewed at the time. Guerra might be one of those he is referring to.

You are wrong Astro. Perth is in the top three most financial clubs in the WAFL - not the richest but we are in a very sound financial position. Having said that the odd funds given by the WAFC would help us go that extra step.
The biggest problem is that we do need change at Board level and changes to club culture both on and off the field.
The club has to be a lot smarter.
Not sure about any alignment to WCE being the best option.... for who??

Guerra's withdrawn his application DD. His missus is pregnant so he's staying in Victoria.

I would think that if Guerra applied and they reopened applications he would be a little peeved. I think his thuggish style of play is the last thing Perth need anyway. I'm wondering if Dean Cox applied before the initial deadline or after I still think he is a good football brain and of great character. He could awake the sleeping giant that is PFC. Out of interest does Perth have an overdraft?

Mr AFL wrote: Was thinking about midfield recruits the other day and decided to have a look at the VFL. Ross Young still has it and is having a very good year.

Anyway my main point was I came across a bloke called Ben Duscher who currently plays for Essendon's VFL team.

Ben has played 18 games this year after having injury interrupted seasons previously and has been named in the best eight times. He is a quite solid at 186cm and 90kg's.

Mr AFL
Another player for Bendigo Gold and is described as a classy left foot midfielder by the name of Tom Hams.

Theres a full forward playing in the Gippsland League by the name of Darren Sheen,26 years old,he's 195cm and weighs 95kg's and has kicked over 100 goals a season in his last 2 seasons.
He would be well worth a look!

I think the Brent Guerra option is one worth pursuing further. Chance Bateman has said he will go where he goes so it sounds like Chance is keen to be an assistant coach to Guerra. Hopefully in a playing role, he has looked in good touch and as healthy as he has ever been since he retired from AFL.

Count Guerra out. I heard him and his partner are expecting their first child so will be staying in Melbourne.

Big Darren would sure be worth a look at. Last two seasons has played 39 games and kicked 207 goals.

Tom Hams averaged per game last year 18.1 disposals, 5.7 handball receives, 3.8 marks and 2.7 tackles. He kicked 7.9 for the season as well.

However he has only played the one game this year. Is he injured?
