He has experience yes and is 28 turning 29 next year. Played 15-16 games in the AFL this year. For me he was never a terrific player always one that fought above his division and did so admirably. I'd be looking elsewhere first but would still keep him in consideration if other targets didn't eventuate.

In his two years at Box Hill in the VFL while on Hawthorns list he played 33 games and kicked 57 goals.

Would definitely be worth a look.

I wouldnt mind having a look at Gwilt from St Kilda either. He can play at both ends, has had Grand Final experience and is still young for WAFL.

Gwilt will be at Adelaide next year. The one I'd be chasing is Clinton Jones. We desperately need inside mids.

Finances aren't a problem at PFC. We are very well run financially probably too well as the board a few years back, decided that getting rid of the debt was a major priority so the football department suffered somewhat, a lot really.

The board is now trying to have a happy medium, small profits with more in the footy dept to enable better results. We will show a profit again this year and will be only a little less than 2013 which is an outstanding effort. Like most clubs, PFC operates a on a very tight budget with a lot of voluntary work. We just seem to have taken it a step too far. There are 3 or 4 clubs that would give their left goolie to be in our financial position.

As for East Perth you dont need to worry about their profits or losses. They will soon sell their colours to pink and purple if some one offers them 12 shekals. Thats the great thing about EP. They will sell anything for a dollar without a thought for community, supporters or fellow WAFL clubs. They are the reason the WAFL will be in a state of decline for many years. They do absolutely NOTHING for their junior clubs and give zilch compared to say West Perth or Subiaco. For EP, its all take take take then sell sell sell.

Once again someone who knows absolutely nothing about EP and in particular its development process talks rubbish.

Again for you, the EP development process is very much alive and well, how can you tell , well at training last Wednesday night we had 48 boys on the track with 4 in rehab, add to that the 3 at training with the league. If you count the reserves side you will find that all have come through the colts process in the past 5 years with 4 or 5 playing league on Saturday.

In the past year we have had 4 boys in the 18's compared to how many from perth or wp, 5 in the 16's and our 16's squad was over 50 at the beginning and around that number at the end.

Goind back to the colts, of the side that ran out last week at least 5 of them are 16 and half of the others will play next year.

MMMM seems our development process is just fine hows urs!

Clint Jones will be a 12 point player and his disposal is questionable.

I know it's very frustrating Grump, all you ask for is some basis for an argument. On another note my two cents is Perth need talls desperately. Forget about chasing anything else. I had thought Houghton and maybe to a lesser extent Garstone might have come on. Can I have a Perth perspective on those two young talls.

Sam Garstone has played 19 games in the reserves. Didn't set the world on fire but built on each performance as the year went on. Had a breakout game in round 19 against Peel were he kicked 3 goals from 20 possessions and 7 marks. Hopefully can add 5-6 kg's in the off season and will have to wait and see until preseason games and then assess then to see the improvement he has made.

Nice size I liked him in the colts, thank you for that. Very hard to recruit key talls and even harder to develop them, so few genuinely big kids come through the system.

I wasnt talking about your colts/reserves but what East Perth does for its junior didtrict clubs which is nothing. I have 3 kids 15, 17, 19 who play for Ballajura and Coolbinia and they contribute nothing to the respective clubs as far as support or motivation. In the past 2 years, we have only seen one player attend to do a presentation for the best player. He was reserves player who had never played a league game and he gave the prize to a kid who sat on the bench due to injury. The reason he didnt know was he was having a smoke out the back and probably watched 10 minutes of the game in total. On top of that he could barely speak. That is the total involvement in the past 2 years yet both these clubs have provided a number of players to the colts/development squads.

A few years back, Ballajura was in the Subiaco district and we had players or officials in attendance in at least half our games. The moment we went back under East Perth's zone, you could hear a collective groan. In 2012, the club had a personal tragedy with one of our young players and not once did EP offer to even be involved. The following year, the club held a memorial day and EP were asked to help promote the day and the message behind the tragedy which they did in their own special way. They sent an email out to all members, district clubs, sponsors etc....on the Monday AFTER the game. Thanks a lot.

Ask any mum dad coach player below the EP colts and see what help they have ever been given. It would be a very short conversation yet Subiaco and West Perth thrive on this.

funny there are few of them at the games on saturday and the president of the ammo club whose son plays colts, formerly with the juniors and this not the impression I have, you have yours and ...... u are entitled to it. I do recall last school holidays a few of the boys commented abt how much fun it was revisiting the juniors but again I get told diffrerent things.

If there is an issue then take it up with the Junior Development officer, I know he is there at the office cos I see him regularly.

But again what yopu see and I hear can be altogether different.
