Whats the matter Larry, you got no one to talk to on the Eagles reserves thread? I wonder if that has anything to do with the alignment? EP supporters would be dominating this forum if it was a true EP side that was sitting on top of the ladder. Run along now, we are tired of you.

Larry Bird wrote: Tony doesn't come cheap he would likely be the most expensive option. What do the clear thinking Perth people think about that, please no replies from the Neanderthals in front of the interchange gates. Can Perth afford him? The delay could be due to the fact candidates are still involved at another club at the moment.

AFL assistants would still be involved at their respective clubs.

Why would a current AFL assistant drop a coaching tier and a decent pay packet to coach a club of struggling semi professionals with an obvious deep embedded culture of mediocrity?..........surely only a recent ex AFL player with limited coaching experience but unlimited AFL coaching aspirations or an experienced lower league coach on his last legs, who wasnt good enough to coach at the elite level, trying to rconvince himself he still has the coaching nous, would be interested in such a challenge?

Saying that Hases time at SF has surely curtailed any AFL aspirations he may of originally harboured.....also Jarmans too from memory a few years ago at Perth......ditto for Stavros at EFFC.

Well I think the first question to ask Andrew is what is the status of the coach recruitment process? Are we still going with the candidates identified in the advertisement process or are we starting again? I guess the second question I'd like asked is who do we expect to lose from the current squad - I hear Jared Risol is heading off, Nick Kane's been mentioned as well, Clem Smith is likely to be drafted but how about Bevo and others including in particular Brennan Stack? And related to that is what are the priorities for recruiting in 2015? What's on the horizon regarding recruits?

AFL Development coaches Freezin. AFL assistants do get moved on. Garry Ayres did from Essendon and landed at Port Melbourne.

If they go with an untried senior coach at this level, I pray they appoint him for no more than 2 years and have it in the contract it is the clubs option to extend and only a finals appearance in his first year will justify an extension. No more of this whacking an extra year on before the second year starts based on moving up to 5th, 6th or 7th on the ladder. That is rewarding mediocrity, something this club has been very good at in the past.

And if the options are not flattering and convincing, then they must ask Trevor Williams to extend his caretaker role for another season and see who is available next year.

pretty sure Ayres coached over 220 games in the AFL for Geelong/Adelaide Mr AFL, pretty sure Port paid Ayres a pretty good wage for coaching them....could Perth do the same?......surely an AFL development coach wouldn't go backwards to a lower league and a lower pay packet to further his career?......yeah an ex AFL player who doesn't score a development or assistants job in the AFL maybe......that would be like an aspiring lawyer in a big firm seeking opportunities for Citizens Advice or Legal Aid for next to nothing career or pay wise....definitely a man doing on a good deed but nothing else!!.... ;)
