I said this at the start of the season, recruiting all 3 Mortons probably cost us points wise getting a tall KPP or even a top shelf mid.
2 Mortons was the better option imo.

Now Risol and to a lesser extent Kane have gone we must and no ifs or buts about it replace them with quality tall KPP's.
No point imo relying on Busher,Houghton,Deaves and Power as the tall key options.

A season like this (which isnt new) is always going to cost a club sponsorship, membership and supporters.
The search for a new coach is not going well and the feel of it to me is,we will end up taking what we can get.

By the way Mr AFL i think Ed is taking the piss and doing nothing but trying to get a reaction,i think he goes under a few user names on this site!

I have nothing to gain from stirring the pot nor do I really want to cop abuse for merely sharing what I have heard. Take it anyway you wish.

Players and sponsors leave all clubs but I get the impression there is a few concerns at PFC....

I did hear that about Perth trying to offload players back to us but didn't want to stir to much rubbish. Some of the Perth posters are a little precious Ed. Can someone tell me please the size of the overdraft?

Larry, I do know that there is an large overdraft in place, but I don't know its current position.

Glass has declined any involvement with the club choosing to study next year.

I am also aware that a couple of major sponsors are rethinking support in 2015. This is also inline with a number of players.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news, just sharing what I know!

Ed

interesting to read an ex WCE chairman is chair of the MBA that Glass is doing next year.....pretty sure to get accepted to do MBA study you have to have a successfully completed a degree in the first place.....what's Glass degree again?.....hopefully this isn't a case of not what you know but who you know?....

I have heard that Perth have approached East Perth to take back Brookes and Borat with a view to saving transfer fees, I also believe they are trying to make a few bucks as well on the deal....not sure that the Dees are in a strong financial position as a few of you suggest.

Really?

It was stated at the President's lunch on Saturday that the club will post another profit this year. And that the club will be signing up a new major sponsor this week. There's one sponsor out there that I would gladly see the back off.

As for Brookes and Borret being packed off back to EP, no arguments from me. Both aren't worth the points.

Yes there are a few players holding off making decisions on whether they go around in red and black in 2015 depending on who ends up coaching.

That's great news Dazzler, if we are able to post a profit at the end of October I for one will extremely pleased.
I was very concerned because our attendances fell away badly.
We continue to be a well run club financially.
But it is imperative that we change things around on the field.
I am not sure that this will happen unless there are changes.

Good work to post a profit in this climate, particularly with Perth's aggressive recruiting policies of recent times. Can I just ask how big Perth's overdraft is please if someone would inform me. Word from East Perth is we should scratch out a small profit too.

Dazzler good news and I wouldnt give these posters the time of day.

Who has ever heard of approaching a club to give players back??,this poster has his hand on his little stork.
We would have paid next to nothing for them and so the best they could hope for would be the DCM!!
Both players would struggle to dominate in the Amateurs.

Some transfers are split over two years by negotiation , I don't know why fact is treated with such paranoia on this forum. Consult your football department then come back and call people liars. Until that point you need to take the blinkers off and take people at their word. How do you rate Brookes and Borrett do you see a future for them, I know Rowans father was a bit of a trouble maker.

Larry you keep asking about Perth's overdraft.. why?
Every club runs with an overdraft at various times, particularly in the off season before the new season memberships and sponsorships start coming in. It is related to cashflow, not to profit and loss.

For me, the bottom line at the end of each season is the profit/loss line and the accumulated funds. At Perth we have continued to make successive profits despite very poor on field performances that has made us one of the most financial clubs in the league, not the richest but perhaps the best financially managed.

That is a huge credit to all the admin people and all the volunteers that organise all functions and other fundraising during the season, particularly the hard working people that organise probably the best auction/banquet of all league clubs.

So, IMHO, the club is not a total basket case but, all the good work that goes in off the field has to be translated to on field success else a basket case we will eventually become.
