1. Horse on the coaching team.
2. Ensure we get a new stand within two,
3. Prop up the coffers,
4. Help with other recruitment,
5. Ensure we get our zones fixed
6. Fix the around the ground viewing comfort
7. Get our Perth Demons women's team up and running
8. Provide us better access to ovals
9. Begin a feasibility study on getting a team in Joondalup that they can align with. Have this up and running in 3 or 4 years. (This having the added bonus of spreading the talent in that neck of the woods and thereby making the whole competition better not to mention making the comp an even amount of teams to play each other twice for a fair 18 round home and away season).

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

And don't give me any shit about too many teams in Joondalup. You don't have a problem with Perth, East Perth, Claremont and Subi fighting it out in the CBD

Where do you get this wild idea about another team in Joondalup? A team that west coast can align with later? What's wrong with you man?

TFAF, can you elaborate on some of the points you made:
1. How do WCE help us to get Horsley? So you want WCE to take over coaching, despite them pitching the "player loan arrangement" on the basis that the WAFL team/s would remain autonomous?
2. On what basis do we get money? Do WCE pay us to play their players? Or would it be just be us saving match payments? Again, WCE are trying to sell this on the basis of an arms length arrangement where Perth keep our independence. How do we do that if we financially beholden to them?
4. How do WCE help with recruitment? Why would they care? There is still a salary and points cap, and we would likely see a reduction in both if we had 6-9 AFL players a week. Beyond that, would it be fair to other WAFL clubs to have an AFL team reaching out to players to get them to play for Perth?
5. Why would WCE care about our zone? They have the whole of Australia to draft from. If anything, it would simply absolve the WAFC from addressing the issue. Plus, as EP and C found, AFL alignment usually impede junior development (yes, I know we have no juniors worth developing at the moment), and cause players to leave if they feel their pathway to league footy is blocked by AFL players.
6. Women's team - seriously??!!
7. Joondalup - this is your hobby horse. It may have some merit, though I think 10 teams would spread talent too then. But if WCE have us in their pocket, why would they bother to spend money to set up an alignment team from scratch?

BC is right. There are no positives for us. RESIST!!!

Answer : WC have horse. He becomes a line coach with us paid for by WC.
2. On what basis do we get money? Do WCE pay us to play their players? Or would it be just be us saving match payments? Again, WCE are trying to sell this on the basis of an arms length arrangement where Perth keep our independence. How do we do that if we financially beholden to them?

Answer : We get money for this by saying if you want this you cough.
4. How do WCE help with recruitment? Why would they care? There is still a salary and points cap, and we would likely see a reduction in both if we had 6-9 AFL players a week. Beyond that, would it be fair to other WAFL clubs to have an AFL team reaching out to players to get them to play for Perth?

Answer :
WC help with recruitment by such as "Hey A grader - we can't fit you in but go to the Perth Dees and you will be right under our eyes.

Answer :
They get our zone sorted now or they don't get us.
6. Women's team - seriously??!!

Answer :
Every club has them but us.
7. Joondalup - this is your hobby horse. It may have some merit, though I think 10 teams would spread talent too then. But if WCE have us in their pocket, why would they bother to spend money to set up an alignment team from scratch?

Answer :
Yes I know it would spread talent  - that's one of the two main reasons for it. This will help weaken WP, Subi and Claremont. The other is a ten team comp with the newest team aligning to WC for say 10 years

I get that Perth people want to keep Perth Perth.i would too.

On the other hand,  why not accept the Eagle's interstate recruits as a payment for sharing your ground and compensation for having a very thin zone and decades of pain.  Non selected WA Eagles return to home club. That way, it still feels reasonably fair for other wafl clubs.  It's unfair now anyway for Perth.

Nisbett is on the back foot, how about he distributes any es draftees to the bottom 4 sides and pays each club for taking them on board. Freo can do the same when peel fk them off. If not then go fk up some other comp. Then peel can die and we are back to a stronger 8 team comp. If they don't like it they could always buy the licenses, worth 6 squillion each according to s42

Thanks, TFAF. So basically you propose, not just an alignment, but a partnership, where WCE appoint coaches, give us money on demand, assist with recruiting and make submissions to the WAFC on our behalf, using their clout to force the issue. What would be the point of calling ourselves Perth FC?

DG, spot on. The model you propose would be fine. And, yes, Nisbett in on the back foot, which is exactly why PFC shouldn't back down and make it easy for WCE.
