My God, what was that?  I expected Subi to win by 3 or 4, but not like that.  We can hope that was an anomaly, otherwise this year is samo, samo.  A 3 team race with Subi taking the chokkies again.

Your post does raise an interesting point.  What criteria is used to work out what game should be televised?  Obviously it doesn't always work out but there are some matches that tend to be generally competitive.  For example, Swans matches against Perth and West Perth are generally competitive.  Matches against Subiaco in recent times less competitive.

Total humiliation tonight. Just when you thought things could not get worse McPartland out before the game started, Taylor off early with a leg problem and bad concussion. I believe he is in hospital so hope he is ok. Then by half time Fisher had a leg injury and was limping for all the second half. Stayed at FF to help with rotations so I hope he did not make it worse.
So, that makes it 15 of first 22 on injured list and even though we may get some back after the bye who soon after that, it will take some time to clear the injured list altogether.
Subiaco were just too slick and skillfull and we were never going to look like a threat to them. Our only goal came late in the final quarter. Our boys were just not able to cope with the fast running Lions.
A lot has been said about this injury list. We are currently a virtual ressies side. If it has not yet been under some sort of examination or enquiry it needs to be. Is it the ground, the players' fitness or just pure bad luck?

Swan 42: just to highlight your point further,  at least one Subi/PFC game has been shown each season  siince 1979.

Very disappointed with that game.  To score our one and only goal in the last quarter was unacceptable.  Looks like we couldn't replicate the effort of the previous two games and everything just caught up with us and we hit the wall.  Didn't help with Matt Taylor getting taken to hospital either.

In saying that the team tonight had 10 of our best 22 missing and 8 players that had played fewer than 10 league games.

If you would have said that after the Peel game we would lose another 5 players through injury or suspension to an already long list of players missing and head into the bye 4-4 then I reckon most would have taken that.

The bye couldn't have come at a better time with upto 3-5 players potentially returning for the East Fremantle game.

Depressing night to watch that. Not just for Perth supporters but for all non Subiaco WAFL supporters under the illusion that the gap between Subiaco and the other teams is narrowing. Even taking into account that Perth were undermanned a 100 point defeat at home was just a reminder that normal service has now been resumed and the Subiaco dominance is back on track after a slight blip last year.

I think we have hit a critical mass when it comes to injuries and unfortunately we copped Subi..losing big bodied players like Bush and Rog meant it was basically men against boys..Mossy needs to put this one behind us and as was said we would have taken winning 2 out of the last 3 any day of the week.

On the plus side, the crowd was reasonably healthy. Well done Perth supporters. Beautiful night. Ground looked a picture.  Some cultural diversity in the little league.  Belmont footy club? Maybe the ratings were good.

Not as tough as we have had it. I remember Claremont and Subi beating us by 30 goals a few times in the last 10 years. We are completely decimated with injuries atm. It was men v boys to be sure and ugly in a lot of way. Subi were very very physical.

We had some grunt throughout though  - lots of scuffles.  Our players were invested.

We had a good crowd for a thursday game. We are 4 and 4. Lets get some players back and see what happens.

Our best 22 will beat $ubies. We will relish it more.

Is $7 for a can in the can bar too much? I reckon it is. What's a can at the local bowling cub?

Another 100 people in the can bar for atmosphere needed and always there in the past.

Hope I haven't thrown anyone for adding a side to the thread.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
