Not much you can say. Just put it behind us and hope we can improve when players come back. In terms of positives, Avery was quite good, although he saw plenty of the ball. Byrne was ok, as was Clarke. Negatives - Edmonds was awful. Not just no impact, but incredibly soft. He needs good players around him because he doesn't like a tough game where he has to win his own ball. And Henderson. Twice in the last quarter he had 10m on his opponent in the forward line running into goal but because he is so slow, he was closed down and Subi cleared the ball. He did the same against Peel, he knows he can't out run his opponent, so he panics, tries to run faster than he can, fumbles, falls over and generally shows that he really should be playing reserves.

Does anyone know what happened to McPartland? Hopefully Taylor and Fisher aren't too bad.

We lost 15% in that game. Shades of 2019, where we lost a combined 20% in two games against Subi. 9 wins may have been enough for finals with a decent %, but we will need 10 - so we have to win 6 of the remaining games.

We were never going to win this game but a better effort could have and should have been displayed.
Little things like pick up loose players at stoppages around the ground, the amount of times Subi had a player 5 metres from the ball up when there were 5 or 6 Perth players all at the ball up.
The biggest for me is the kicking in from a opposition point.
FMD you now have 20 metres to run out to before kicking the ball then roost it another 50 or 60 metres away.
Instead we persist in kicking to the pocket then another small dinkey kick 20 metres away and before you know it 3 kicks and we are still in the oppositions 50 metre arc.
All in all a 1 goal game at league level is well below par regardless of who’s not playing.
If Henderson gets another league gig this season I’d be surprised!

I feel sorry for the players they don't deserve this rotten luck.
Another 3 down tonight.
There was player tonight at the 3/4 time huddle with his head down.
He looked spent.
i thought it should have been in the air.
He gave his all under extreme circumstances.

What a debacle. These amount of injuries would decimate any club. It is sad to see because their efforts the last two weeks have been mighty but there is a breaking point and tonight was it. I can’t see it getting any better anytime soon. The bye is perfect or maybe a bye this week would have been perfect. Talk about riding the highs and lows of football. It can be a cruel game sometimes. When are we ever going to have some good fortune?

Another Subiaco premiership is theirs for the taking.

DF I understand the injury situation and who we have and don’t have out there.
My post was more about things you can control out on the ground doesn’t matter who’s out there, small things we didn’t do.
It wouldn’t have changed the result but it would have changed the scoreboard a little bit.
I did have a go at Henderson you may or may not agree with that.

I think we have hit a critical mass when it comes to injuries and unfortunately we copped Subi..losing big bodied players like Bush and Rog meant it was basically men against boys..Mossy needs to put this one behind us and as was said we would have taken winning 2 out of the last 3 any day of the week.

I concur. We’ve just run out of experience and talent to compete with a ruthless outfit like $. It was hard to watch because it was a perfect night, there was a few people there and the atmosphere was great but nowhere near competitive.

I also agree with 30+ that we had shite numbers and positioning in and around stop plays. Their spread was phenomenal from them and we had blokes playing at a different tempo at times.

Avery stuck manfully to his job on Sokol after quarter time.

Not as tough as we have had it. I remember Claremont and Subi beating us by 30 goals a few times in the last 10 years. We are completely decimated with injuries atm. It was men v boys to be sure and ugly in a lot of way. Subi were very very physical.

We had some grunt throughout though  - lots of scuffles.  Our players were invested.

We had a good crowd for a thursday game. We are 4 and 4. Lets get some players back and see what happens.

Our best 22 will beat $ubies. We will relish it more.

Is $7 for a can in the can bar too much? I reckon it is. What's a can at the local bowling cub?

Another 100 people in the can bar for atmosphere needed and always there in the past.

Hope I haven't thrown anyone for adding a side to the thread.

That's full strength cans and has been that price for the last 2-3 seasons.

Just realised 3 came out of last weeks side.
Busher, Nicholas and McPartland.
That is 14 players out.
And Fisher during the game.
FMD and John Townsend writes an article like that.
How much worse can it get.
The ground announcer has to go.

Sorry plus Taylor and Fisher during the game.
