Much is made about Brisbane being a fortress, but it certainly helps when they get the “traditional” first test nearly every year. I reckon if it was a “tradition” to play the first test every year in Perth then the results would be pretty similar!

Whilst a frustrating day yesterday for the Aussies, with both sides making 300 plus with wickets in hand, perhaps the pitch wasn't demonic as the commentators said....both front line spinners took 2 for 150 plus, Aust quicks didn't bowl smart, but sounds like India will carry a battered and bruised side into a short change test match. Gutsy effort by Vihari and Ashwin, Pujara just played his normal game, slow and slower....Whilst Pant rorted the sub rule, made a miraculous recovery, batted with aggression as he always does...helps getting dropped a few times along the way....my money would be on the Aussie's for the 4 test, minimal injuries, bowlers keen to respond to a disappointing 5th day bowling....reckon Lyon should go for Neser...or Starc perhaps....bring in a fresh bowler like Neser or Pattinson...Wade in or out?

I wouldn't drop/rest Lyon, integral part of our side no matter what the pitch, I doubt they'd do that. Although I much preferred Head over Wade I think they should leave Wade in. If he doesn't perform this test it's bye bye for him surely.

So Bumrah is now out of the final test....Geez the Indians can't take a trick on the injury front.....if Aust can't win here they won't ever again....

Everyone knows it is the best stadium and equal best pitch in the country bar Cricket Australia mate.
They are absolute muppets who make the WAFC & AFL look competent and that takes some doing believe me!

I agreed with the Paine selection as wicketkeeper before the 2017/18 Ashes series after Haddin had retired and Nevill & Wade just were not quite up to it as keepers at Test level but also believe that after the Brisbane Test it is probably time for him to retire somewhat gracefully as well.
If he continues to go on it reminds me of Healy who virtually had to be tapped on the shoulder in 99 that your days are over as he wanted to go on and on and deprived us of seeing even more of the great Adam Gilchrist in Test cricket and interestingly enough Healy was passed it at 35 back then whilst Paine is actually 36 and turns 37 later this year.
Alex Carey is the current incumbent as his replacement although I am not convinced on his glovework either.
Maybe the selectors should look back to 1988 when they took a punt on a 24yo Healy when other better credentialed keepers at the time maybe deserved a go (Zoehrer, Anderson et al) and give Josh Inglis a crack?

chances are that this season might have been the last for the captain anyway and Carey is a monty to get the gloves at this point
and if form continues Inglis could get a one-day call up as the new Number 2
Carey is a very good bat for a Test number 7 role

The onfield abuse shit rarely works all it does is turns any game nasty and unsportsmanlike and on the telly it is a less than ordinary spectacle

no real wonder five or six natural born retards mimic it in the crowd

Did you see what those Sydney rednecks in the crowd were wearing Southy?
Yep Hawaiian shirts...being from over there they probably thought they were at the Big Bash and after abusing the Indian lads, were wondering where they could get their KFC bucket hats from before starting their Mexican Wave!!! :woohoo:
