This will be a monumental victory for India, given all the issues they have had to face on this tour. Possibly the greatest moment in their cricket history.

No Kohli, no Bumra and how many other bowlers that went down, no problem.

Yes a fantastic win by India and what a performance throughout the series. Undermanned through injury and players missing they were far too good. Paine was found wanting in tactics and his keeping wasn't great either...our batting needs to take a close look at itself and agree with others that Langer has probably done as much as he can after taking over from Lehmann when the team was at an all-time low. He's done a great job up until now but it's time for a change at the top including the captain and coach.

Fully agree that this is quite possibly India's greatest Test win in their history.
After collapsing for 36 in Adelaide, losing Virat Kohli and then suffering 6-8 series-ending injuries, plus playing away from home, this has to be the greatest recovery by any team at the highest level.
Today was shades of the Ben Stokes-orchestrated Ashes Test win at Headingley in 2019, except India's was a more even team effort.
I hope no journos ever, ever refer to Australia's bowling attack as the "best in the world", because they most certainly are not.
I have absolutely no faith in the team bowling out an opponent on a Day 5 run chase.
It's quicker to list those Australian players who are safe from the selectors' axe: Cummins, Green, Hazlewood, Labuschagne and Smith (and Pucovski of those outside the XI).
Easy to say after such a bad loss, I know, but I've never been a fan of Langer's coaching or Paine's captaincy.
With the Test XI being the only Aussie sporting team I really follow, I'm bitterly disappointed at this latest poor performance.
However, full credit to India on their inspirational victory.

Fantastic win by India, fantastic knock by Pant....amazing some fresh faces and new intensity can do to a side....new bowlers came in eager to perform....Australia stuck with their big four throughout, despite two of them bowling under par throughout the series....Starc and Lyon were hugely disappointing, leaving Cummins and Hazlewood too much to do....not sure what Paine has against Green's bowling, but geez the kid would of done better then Starc's 0/70 odd off 15/16 overs...ironic to think SA could be the starting and ending points of Paine's captaincy...made consistent runs this series, but his keeping and captaincy were sub standard at crucial moments....time to move on Paine me thinks.

Great win by India, sadly half that side that won today's game won't even play in that test GF v India....or probably India's next series where ever that may be....

Well done to India
The captain is unable to keep and captain
four of the batsmen are sub standard
one of the seam bowlers is grade standard
the spinner cannot bowl to right handers --poor English left handers have made him look better then he appears
India should have won the test match earlier, dropped catches aided Australia
Once again, congratulations to India

Well done to India on a fantastic series win.Been a great test summer apart from Perth not getting a test.
Aussies need to look at there lineup.Don't have a spinner on day 5 flat wickets.Need a leg spinner.Starc,Wade,Lyon,Paine all need to be accessed.
Point of interest. The last time Australia lost a test at the Gabba was November 1988....33 years ago V Sir Vivian Richards West Indies.

Spot on with all of the above fellas.

Firstly well done to India you played all over Australia, outplayed them in every category possible, by my reckoning it ended up being something ridiculous like 12 days of the 17 in this series being won or had the better of by India.
Missing 7 or 8 of their best 12/13 Test players at times during the series including Skipper Kohli but no worries for them as they unearthed young guns the likes of Gill, Pant, Vihari, Washington, Shardul, Siraj, Saini, Natarajan etc and made mincemeat of Paine's pampered pretenders (with apologies to Smith, Labaschagne, Cummins, Hazlewood & Green).

GTR this whole Brisbane/Gabba fortress hoo haa is a load of dogs bollocks, there have been nearly as many draws as wins there since 1988 and many of those draws Australia was getting its butt whipped but saved by the never ending QLD rain.
It is usually the 1st Test of the summer and most visiting sides take a Test or 3 to acclimatise to our conditions.

Cricket Australia have copped their right whack for mine, playing at the Gabba (which isnt in the same stratosphere as Optus here) instead of Perth, one of the reasons given being this so called fortress at the Gabba, I hope someone tells those numpties that we are actually unbeaten in Tests at Optus and actually beat India there a couple of summers ago which in fact was India's only Test loss in that series!

Obviously no changes will be made for the SA tour - more so out of the fact no red ball cricket has been played during this India series...only BH's favourite KFC bucket cricket....this really needs to be addressed by CA....play the BBL later in Feb/March.... Reckon Paine would earn more kudos and less flack if he put his hand up and said my captaincy came up short and TBH I need to step down ASAP....no all he says is I am right to go to SA....in some respects back to back series losses (india and SA) would probably be the best thing for Aust cricket before the Ashes...then definite culling would happen....unfortunately a win over SA will over paper over the cracks quite obvious with this Aust team and it's occupants right now....

I guess the next question is Freez if not Paine then who? Cummins has enough on his plate carrying the attack....I wouldn't go back to Smith, Warner is not allowed, Wade will be lucky to hold his place...so I'm not sure who else is around to take over as Captain.
