At the end of the day we took a pitiful 3 wickets on the last day of a Sydney Test including 0 in the last session.
Yes we were not helped by 5 dropped catches including 3 and a half from Paine who to be quite frank had a stinker of a day with the gloves, his Captaincy tactics and his poor banter.
You really have to wonder who was the brain dead flog in the Aussie camp who advised the paceman to bowl short crap all day long until the last 20 minutes or so when the bowlers were out on their legs and had no effort left?
Just plain stupidity!

Yes I had the impression that Australia thought that the Indians were going to roll over today but Pant changed the whole dynamic of the test ( and maybe the series) with his counter attacking. Apart from Hazlewood the bowling was very ordinary, not enough balls directed at the stumps, the fielding was poor and now Brisbane looms as a fascinating test. Winning the toss will be vital for Australia on Friday to give the bowlers a chance to recuperate. It may be time to give Pattinson a run given the listless effort by Starc. India have the measure of Lyon and he looks impotent so they may be tempted to go in with an all pace attack depending on the pitch.
Gutsy effort by Ashwin and Vuhari . Australia have the soul searching to do this week

I think Pattinson was injured at home just recently Mike so maybe still unavailable.
They showed a stat during the coverage that just a pitiful amount of balls I think it was 5 were actually going on to hit the stumps in a whole session.
Bloody disgraceful bowling when you should be bowling to hit the stumps on a wearing last day pitch where some uneven bounce brings both bowled & lbw into the equation but that is no chance when you have a measly 5 balls actually going on to hit the stumps.
Very dumb cricket!

Just read some of the school yard stuff that Wade and Paine were throwing at Ashwin in the last hour. They would be the last blokes to be making comments at the opposition given their performances in this match.
Also Steve Smith was caught scuffing up the pitch not to mention the extremely dodgy substitution of wicketkeepers by India. Sportsmanship is alive and well!

Pathetic stuff Mike.
Maybe if they put as much effort into proper bowling tactics and catching as the above rubbish they might have done better!

Starc does well at the GABBA from memory, he won't be dropped, Lyon needs to miss out,as folk here rightly say, India don't fear him one bit....bring in Neser, QLD boy, knows the GABBA well, bowls sensible lines from memory...the GABBA has been an Aust cricket fortress for a long time...rather play there to win a series then anywhere else bar a day nighter in Adelaide....not very often you see Cummins get his line wrong....

as for Paine and Wade...little man syndrome, just like their coach...

Obviously they have got it into their minds that bumpers can bowl out the top order. The only time I have ever seen such a tactic work was at Leeds 1981. The WI never used it, because short bowling would not get out good players; even in the infamous innings at at the WACA in 1984, again, only the skipper got out to a bumper.

Spot on AR.
The likes of Starc is not fit to carry the likes of Marshall, Holding, Roberts, Garner, Ambrose, Walsh etc boots to the ground!

BH: yes, mate, Starc was extra bad today, bowling poorly, as he has, for most of the season; I don't think the captain or bowlers noticed that it was full straight bowling which dismlssed the very good number three from India.
