11.40 on a Sunday eh? Enough to make Johnny Cash depressed if he was still around. The only consolation will be if Swans can go down to Mandurah ( probably leave Bassendean at around 8.30?) and bring back those four premiership points that takes them another step closer to a 7th finals appearance in the past 8 years which would be getting into new territory for the club.

On the subject of new territory, if the league team can squeeze into the top 5, we could see the prospect of all 3 grades being in action in September. Now I'm not an expert on WAFL history but I don't think that would have happened at Swans too often if at all.

I'm sorry because I am normally quite a positive person but this game feels like such a fraudulent contest on so many levels from the start time manufactured to suit Channel 7's AFL coverage to the manufactured "Peel" team which contains only 2 or 3 local players to the manufactured excitement of this "Mandurah" based team and its first appearance ever in a finals series.

I am sorry to say that for these reasons and because its such a bloody long way to go on Sunday morning, I will not be attending this game but will wish the boys all the best in overcoming what I consider to be quite considerable odds in this encounter. I will be back with bells on for the next real WAFL contest at the Showgrounds in a weeks time.

For those Swans fans who are still going and I'm sure there are quite a few, I dip's my lid to you.

I'm actually quite happy about the start time after inadvertently rostering myself on for a 4pm start at work on Sunday thinking this was a Saturday match...footy gods shining on me just this once. Will go to watch the colts too just so I don't have to pay to get in

Perhaps Peel/FFC can ease your concerns mikeh by pulling Clancee, Ethan and Nathan from their team?..would that make you feel happier.......SD are a good team and play as a team, shouldnt matter what time or where the game is being played.....SD will be sweet.......

DW it should be a cracking colts game......Peels youngsters....or are they Freo's youngsters?......have been in cracking form......put Cl and EF colts boys to the sword good and proper in the last month....

Mikeh I can understand your sentiment but I will be there and I suspect a significant number of Swans supporters will also be there. Wait for the scheduling of the finals to fit into:

(i) Channel 7's requirements; and
(ii) Fremantle's request (read DEMAND) of the date and time when their reserves' team is to play any finals. This will include the WAFL GF if Peel are in it. Rest assured it WILL NOT be played on a Sunday and more likely will start around noon on the Saturday (or earlier if the Saturday AFL preliminary final is played in Melbourne).

Not really worried about who Peel put out really Freezin, we beat them with Clancee getting 35 possession a few years ago, I'm more concerned about the integrity and the credibility of the competition and its games such as this that remind me that neither exist in the WAFL any more.

Mike we had all 3 grades in the finals back in 2008 not that long ago and it was a final 4 that year!

A couple hours down the road shouldnt be a inconvienance mikeh.....fark its not as though you are coming from Broome mate.......why dont SD stay the night in Mandurah on Sat.then....its not as though the players are going out the night before the game is it....perfect way to bond as a team having a night away together....pretty sure SD with all their money saving ventures from playing predominantly young locals could afford to splash out when needed......you guys will win and win easily......

Actually you know what, if they organised a game in Broome I would be up there in a shot. Probably NZ is not too flash either but the cold is getting to me this year. Looking forward to some balmy nights in 6 months

No worries mate ..but it takes some doing having all 3 grades make the GF in the same year and then lose all 3!!
