Mate, I'm one of the least liked people at Subi. I have no idea what goes on there or who they speak to. I've criticised them too often on here and that's the way it goes.

But yeah, here is Tommy www.sportfm.com.au/20170403_south_freo.mp3

Thanks for that LaH I have listened to the relevant part. My response to his comments is that people like Southerner and Dwert need to urgently provide feedback to South Freo ad perhaps point out a few things in the review that he may not have picked up on. With respect to the 16 or 18 matches I remain to be convinced. I hope I am wrong but. . .

Did you get a chance to re-read Townsend's column and did you understand it this time because your first interpretation of his column was diametrically opposite to what Townsend's intent was and indeed what he wrote?

Well of course, he has said that the WAFC has invented a problem in order to make changes & receive funding from the AFL. based it mainly on draft picks etc didn't reference data mentioned in the report in regard to decline in WA product quality. which should have been his first stop given this is what the piece is about.

And for the record, I have interests in 2 WAFL clubs which I follow fairly closely.

Just a few ideas on promo day.

WP-As is...International Day...brilliant

S-Harmony day....get the Indigenous and African boys together from the kgb....they don't always see eye to eye out there....lets help them

EF-Murdoch Day....one game per year at Murdoch Uni...get all the students involved...bars, free entry plus one...heart of the zone....students galore

SF-Culture Day-Always the champion of the Portuguese, Croation and Italian community...its about time we invited them back with all the great food and culture they have to offer

TBC

Thanks for the info. Did he make any comments about how South Freo were thinking about the review?

Yeah, he was cautious with it in as much as the cost burden of colts has been removed. And it was costly for WAFL clubs to fund their programs...even though a lot of the development staff in the WAFL are rubber stamped WAFC approved and its been that way for 10 years mate.

Losing the draft money is an issue for sure. For some clubs...like CL and EF a massive issue...for others not so when you offset the costs. The staff won't change much...they are already there and have been for ages.

The main thing we have to fight for the colts to be played on gameday.....thats the issue right now....sure, get them off the dew if thats what they want but keep all 3 grades together is some way.

Ladies footy! Maybe down the track when the standard improves...not now...

Among all the disgusting things about the BCG report and recommendations and not trying to boost Swans up they simply don't know what is happening about women's footy. Swans have three teams and the move to play the women's league match on the Saturday dislocates the schedule of the three tems we have (women's league ressies and youth). How is that a good thing in trying to develop women's footy?

Well they are being PC mate. That's current human nature to do what is socially accepted rather than what is best.

The ladies have played many matches after Subi games. People leave...they aren't interested in watching a standard less than L grade ammos.

The ladies should concentrate on really building Sunday into their day. From 16's upwards. Really focus on getting the standard up and building a following of their own. It will take many years but patience is a virtue

I watched a game of over 40's vets on the weekend that was of a higher standard than the woman's game. No offence meant to the ladies, its just the reality of where it is at right now at this point in time of the development of the woman's game. I for one would not waste my time. Has no interest to me whatsoever. If played before the league I'm arriving 10mins before league bouncedown simple as that instead of a day out watching colts ressies and league. Totally agree with the comments above. Sunday is the right day.

This is what you said about the interview:

"What a fantastic interview, that guy is a great ambassador for the wafl. No scaremongering, just facts and a positive attitude."

This is what you just said:

"didn't reference data mentioned in the report in regard to decline in WA product quality."

Now let me tell you that according to Bottrell in the interview you waxed lyrically over he said that 10-12 years the WAFC took the WAFL junior councils' responsibilities from the WAFL clubs and transferred in-house. Now let me quote again:

"didn't reference data mentioned in the report in regard to decline in WA product quality."

And what period were they talking about? Answer the last 10 years.

And who was responsible for that development?

Answer the WAFC.

And you're certainly a great ambassador for the WAAFL....trouble is, you make your hatred for the WAFL a little too obvious

Do you think that he actually supports a WAFL club?

42.....pretty sure tugboat is a supporter of WA footy as a whole mate...you talk about your "player first" reservations in the Colts set up....I reckon your "WAFL first" belief is just as concerning....are you a supporter of footy as a whole in the WA community..or just a fan of one league in the WA footy landscape......are the WAFL fans needs any greater than the WAAFL,SWFL,GNFL fans needs?....

I suggest you check a question you asked me earlier and that is your answer.

its a bit hard to discuss this with you Swan until you have a proper understanding of how WA Football works.

Whilst I might seem crazy to most of you, I am going to continue to educate the WAFL faithful on the rest of football in the state. Football does exist outside of AFL & WAFL.

The junior council is totally different to development. The junior council runs the junior football competitions in each district. Each district has a junior council with WAFC employees and volunteers.

The development that you accuse the WAFC of wrecking over the past 10 - 12 years is run by your beloved WAFL clubs. All the development teams in each district are run by WAFL clubs. WAFL club volunteers & coaches are responsible for developing the best talent in the state, not the WAFC.

If you go to page 66 of the Boston report, you will see the real data that has been used by them to justify changes, mostly the large decline has been in the past 3 years.

It is difficult to discuss his matter with you as you have had more positions than Malcolm Turnbull. You have gloated and lauded over us that everywhere there is a football in WA there is the WAFC.

If you know anything about anything it is self-evident that if a junior does not have the basic skills developed from the start then there is a limit to how well they can develop their skills at the more elite level. And who is responsible for the junior footy and the answer is the WAFC. Give me strength: in the last 3 years. The last 3 years would be 2014, 2015 and 2016. Apparently the development is so bad that Griffen Logue after some colts' games and 8 league games for Swans in 2016 suddenly had a transformation that was so drastic that he was able to make a debut for Fremantle in Round 3 of the following year (2017).

When the company that is responsible for the review does not bother to interview the WAFL clubs I would suggest that it is deficient.

Player Development Managers essentially run the Development programs for the WAFL clubs resourced by the WAFC...

My last word on this raping of the WAFL ...Change is in the wind and imminent , for my own sanity time to move and embrace the almighty WAFC and their merry men and women. I will watch with great the impending developments.

Vale the WAFL ....,I just hope that all the traditional clubs survive and we are here 30 years down the track talking about our great competition known as WAFL.

Its not gloating Swan, its just very apparent that some of the WAFL diehards here have a very limited knowledge of WA Football outside of the WAFL, I am only giving you honest facts.

I think I have been very respectful in some of my responses, take for instance your last post and getting mixed up as to who is responsible for development that you say is so poor. I could have gone to town on you, instead I gave you the facts, explained how it works, you know now.

Don't worry I am not waiting for a thank you.
