Unholytugboat wrote: Which bit don't u get? The wafc is massive, the wafl could shut down tomorrow and it would be business as usual. It's like a business with 10000 customers losing one client?? A minor blip.

Talking about justifying the wafc existence is ludicrous and unfathomable. - it's f-ing crazy to think that they exist to run the wafl.

In regards to drop out rates, can u tell me at what point do wafl clubs interfere with junior clubs? Surely it's not youth where they start creating the havs and have nots? I wonder if this was one of the reasons development is going to the wafc?

27% increase in participation in 12 months. And u picked the age group that wafl gets involved.

Absolute dribble. According to you the WAFC is involved in everything ALREADY. The WAFC controls everything according to you. You speak of "haves and have nots". What do you think a "player first" mentality means? It means that it's all about the individual and not a team. Selfish and singular in purpose.

You can't have it both ways: either the WAFC runs everything to do with footy in WA or they don't. If they do as you assert then they are to credit/blame for current state of footy in WA.

I respectfully suggest that you do more than skim read; read it carefully and its entirety.

You might be interested to know that the BCG submission lists the retention rates FOR ONLY one club. WHy would they only quote one club's retention rates?

Commission man or Pro Commission,he certainly seems to be reading from their Script to Hammer the WAFL,Dwert.

Mr Cleverdick can't even answer a few simple questions from your's truly.Who does he think I am?Mark Duffield?

Not pro commission, just simply pro football, my views have been developed through my involvement with junior and senior football and knowledge of the system.

Open your eyes and have a read ...

I have never said the WAFL is doing a perfect job.

My views are based on still working in junior Development at WAFL ....After 30 years involvement as a player at WAFL , Country level . Coached Country League level and at development level at two WAFL clubs ? Spent time on WAFL club board and as I said still involved in junior development after 30 years involvement WAFL / WA football.

I am the first to admit I am no expert but do have a pretty good understanding on the system and how it works..,,

I'd expect someone with your experience to contribute a little better, calling someone sad because they don't share the same view as u. It's ok to be wafl, just like it's ok to have a bigger view of footy in the community.

You are an antagonistic person Mr Tugboat...Once again you have made an assumption of me about my understanding of the big picture in football????
Do you know me or know what Ai have been involved with in football?

No, let's be clear, I'm not making things personal, I'm simply expressing my views on one of the biggest changes in wa football history.

You say antagonistic, I say my views are unpopular on a 99% wafl audience.- I Know this and have tried to be sutle.

You have some serious credentials to discuss the topic. Like I have said before, take your wafl hat off and give an honest assessment.

Great idea Swan42 ..I would suggest the SFFC posters do likewise....email the CEO ... This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Some points that people might like to comment on include:
  • the reduction from 20 home and away games to 16
  • the removal of the reserves matches as curtain raisers to the league
  • the availability of colts' players to play league
  • the reduction in funding to the WAFL clubs
  • how removing junior development teams, colts, and junior footy helps kids identify with a WAFL club
  • where will the next generation of WAFL supporters come from when they junior footy players will have no relationship with the WAFL clubs

Spot on 42 these concerns were mentioned during a conversation I had with a SFFC director at home last Sat before I drove down to Leederville. He said clubs like South and Swans who have two of the healthiest zones and relationships with them will be affected big time and it will be a slow death in the end because of the disconnect from juniors including Colts and the League group. Parents won't become members, it will affecr sponsorship etc the list goes on
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!
