I hoped for 22 TBH...but 18 is better than 16

I was quoting from the report that states changing to an 18 round season. To me that means 8 matches = a bye times 2.

Certainly 18 matches is better than 16 but it should be 20 games; we already lost one game per season when Peel came in.

42...I ask again why did you ask tugboat what WAFL club he supported...still scratching my head at the significance of it?...isn't being a fan of footy and obviously involved in it in some capacity good enough to have an opinion? Just reckon you guys are addressing this topic with way too much subjectivity...

I didn't realise that you were uhtb's advocate. To sate your curiosity freezin it speaks to his perspective with respect to his views on the reviews.

Just remember you asked me in one discussion how many WAFL games I had attended?'...not sure why you asked..or the relevance of it....you never told me why when I asked you. ..just curious you asked a similar question to tugboat when he was providing a different opinion to yours...probably like I was doing....LOL

Yes I agree...like I said, 22 was my prefered option but 18 was what the broadcaster wanted and some clubs were making a loss at some games.

I just wish all 9 clubs held their own "day" like West Perth do each season. Do it on different rounds and we have 9 rounds with big support plus our marquee rounds.

Won't make much on the gate but think of the food and drink profits and the potential for new fans.

Yet, apart from WP, no club bothers. Every WAFL club should have a big "concept" day that is relevant to their zone...they have marketing people employed, yet I see very little effort from the clubs

LaH I sincerely hope you aren't suggesting that the reduction in the season is because that is what Channel 7 wants. Surely the WAFC wouldn't be that base?

By the way if it is 18 rounds then that does mean that each club will only play 16 games. I understand neither you nor me can definitively say whether it is 16 or 18 rounds. Without naming your source how certain are you that the information you were given is correct?

Just a few ideas on promo day.

WP-As is...International Day...brilliant

S-Harmony day....get the Indigenous and African boys together from the kgb....they don't always see eye to eye out there....lets help them

EF-Murdoch Day....one game per year at Murdoch Uni...get all the students involved...bars, free entry plus one...heart of the zone....students galore

SF-Culture Day-Always the champion of the Portuguese, Croation and Italian community...its about time we invited them back with all the great food and culture they have to offer

TBC

Thanks for the info. Did he make any comments about how South Freo were thinking about the review?

Yeah, he was cautious with it in as much as the cost burden of colts has been removed. And it was costly for WAFL clubs to fund their programs...even though a lot of the development staff in the WAFL are rubber stamped WAFC approved and its been that way for 10 years mate.

Losing the draft money is an issue for sure. For some clubs...like CL and EF a massive issue...for others not so when you offset the costs. The staff won't change much...they are already there and have been for ages.

The main thing we have to fight for the colts to be played on gameday.....thats the issue right now....sure, get them off the dew if thats what they want but keep all 3 grades together is some way.

Ladies footy! Maybe down the track when the standard improves...not now...

Among all the disgusting things about the BCG report and recommendations and not trying to boost Swans up they simply don't know what is happening about women's footy. Swans have three teams and the move to play the women's league match on the Saturday dislocates the schedule of the three tems we have (women's league ressies and youth). How is that a good thing in trying to develop women's footy?

That one is probably why I've held back so far - as Tom says there's been so little time & very few details , if there's a model it hasn't been revealed or leaked to Hagdorn yet
How the fark these 4 AFLWA office peeps are going run the show defies belief

What a fantastic interview, that guy is a great ambassador for the wafl. No scaremongering, just facts and a positive attitude.

Did you get a chance to re-read Townsend's column and did you understand it this time because your first interpretation of his column was diametrically opposite to what Townsend's intent was and indeed what he wrote?

And you're certainly a great ambassador for the WAAFL....trouble is, you make your hatred for the WAFL a little too obvious

Do you think that he actually supports a WAFL club?
