Most WAFL clubs are broke and rely on external funding- Clubs are forced to cut corners.

I am not aware of any WAFL colts team that is better resourced than its league team.

This talent pathway is not much different from what is occurring here in the West, as you say tugger I would guess the SANFL clubs would get a bigger slice of the pie from the South Australian Football Commission so as they are able to do more within their means....
Thank christ one stae has the balls to stand up to the AFL juggernaut....

Yes Dwert, but the WAFL as a whole can not get their shit together, arguing over AFL host clubs, tradition v change, lets kick peel out, broadcasting rights & advertising - RE WP last year. Would you invest more money into them atm given the current state?

Yep the SANFL clubs have a lot more cash to spend across the board don't forget they have pokie revenues

But to be honest mate I think it's just a matter of time before they follow national model , SANFL tend to hold out a bit longer. But the writings on the wall model wise.

So on that basis Tugboat why then didn't the BGC review focus upon the governance and leadership within the WAFC and the important role that it plays in WA Football in this state?

Beasley Hutton wrote: According to the logic of Tugga a bloke like Trent Cooper wouldn't have got a look in for the Swans Colts Coaching position despite having an experienced coaching/playing background at both WAFL & Community level as he didn't play AFL.
I wonder if the many boys he has helped develop into either AFL players and or WAFL League footballers would have that same opinion?

Is the Swans Colts coaching job a full time paid role?

Just for Bazza and Tugger....

SFFC were looking at the best person for the job in talent identification....The WAFC also were involved in the decision making which led to his appointment and have done so with most of the coaching positions at Colts level for a number of years.....

Not saying we don't look for the best person , he does a great job.

Beasley Hutton wrote: Seeing as Bazza & Tugga are such "experts" in the WAFL Colts & Development programs out of interest when was the last time or have they ever seen a WAFL Colts or 15/16s development game?

The last WAFL Colts game I saw was 3 days ago and if the quality of skill and flair was representative of WA football development and coaching then we are already in good hands!

Still no answer so I will assume it isn't recently maybe never!

Yeah thats fine Dwert I read it long ago, I was wrong by comparison the SF colts coach is a fine candidate.
Lets make him a full time paid coach to focus on his coaching
Lets give him an army of experienced part time assistant coaches
Lets put him through training programs to grow his coaching skills so the kids benefit.

the above is possible under the new model, its not possible under the current model because the primary focus of SF is not to develop talent.

hahahahahaha baseless statement completely wrong in all aspects - fail again
