the model we are supposed to be in love with now - the TAC Cup in Victoria has only 3 ex AFL players as coaches out of 12 teams..

as for other points made, how is it not good for a young players development if he is physically capable to progress through reserves and league ?

So Alistair Clarkson rocks up to the subiaco football club and apply for the colts job.

Do u think he would get it based on credentials?

I will state the proverbial elephant in the room. This recommendation is predicated on the desire to get draft picks NO MATTER WHAT THE COST in terms of the players that don't get drafted. Player welfare and personal development are not even a consideration; just get the higher draft picks.

As I pointed out in an earlier post, I was told that the WAFL clubs' junior councils were made redundant and control was taken over by the WAFC about 10 years. Subsequent to that decision the result, according to the report, fewer top end draft picks and lesser player development. After such an underwhelming success the WAFC want control of the colts.

Clarkson would be the best candidate for any football job in Australia.
one of the silliest posts I have ever read.

fair enough, the wafc site requires personal details to obtain a copy, a bit weird.

Watching Tugga & Bazza flounder around on this topic with absolutely no idea what they are talking about is highly entertaining to say the least...hold up for five tho as I need to get more popcorn.

U think I am floundering? I have too much spare time on my hands...

Imagine trying to convince "supposed football people" that there is a better way to develop talent and its starts with pouring in more resources and focussing on talent development..

Given that the report has indicated that the WAFC's takeover of the WAFL clubs' junior councils, wouldn't it be far better to put those extra resources and money into the WAFL clubs given the singular failure of the WAFC in player development?

using Clarkson applying to coach Subi colts to support your points wont help your credibility.

being invovled in WAAFL footy i can see why you are a supporter in this, the removal of devlopment sides from the WAFL clubs will see more kids not go onto WAFL seniors after not getting drafted as they will have no interest in a WAFL club.

hopefully for you they stay in footy and not just give it away.

Seeing as Bazza & Tugga are such "experts" in the WAFL Colts & Development programs out of interest when was the last time or have they ever seen a WAFL Colts or 15/16s development game?

The last WAFL Colts game I saw was 3 days ago and if the quality of skill and flair was representative of WA football development and coaching then we are already in good hands!

www.sffc.com.au/news/9555/new-south-frem...emy-head-coach-named

Just for Bazza and Tugger....

SFFC were looking at the best person for the job in talent identification....The WAFC also were involved in the decision making which led to his appointment and have done so with most of the coaching positions at Colts level for a number of years.....
