Please do not interpret this posting as a return from my self-imposed exile. I thought that it would be appropriate to post what I was told about what was going to happen next year.

Also, note I will not be revealing the source of this rumour and I am not in a position to confirm the veracity or otherwise of this rumour. Nor will I be providing an opinion on the suggested changes.

The suggested changes as told to me for next year are:

(i) there will be a standalone colts' competition independent of the WAFL clubs;

(ii) the reserves' competition in the WAFL will no longer be played before the league, but at some other unspecified time; and

(iii) in the place of the reserves game there will be a women's match instead.

Welcome back 42.....good to have you back mate......not sure a rumour without a named source is one to worry about then mate.....from memory SD and EF womens teams are quite strong.....the way EF are playing the girls might even get top billing......good to have you back posting......thought you couldnt resist hitting the keyboard again.....you must be pleased with SD 2/0 start mate..,,

Why bother having a WAFL competition at all? We might as well join up with the amateur competition and leave the Alignment teams to play each other. Rapidly losing interest in this farcical situation.

Only hearsay Custy......well not too sure who even said it mate....42 has left us dangling with that bit of news....disappointing of him to say the least.....goes into exile....comes out and drops a bombshell....than goes back into exile again.....grain of salt stuff mate without a named source.....could be anyone for all we know.....give us a source 42?.

Hackdorn was uttering sImilar mutterings on 6Pee Aaar the other day.

I'm with you mate. Looking like my last year following WAFL, particularly if any of those changes take place.

the stuff about the ressies sounds like rubbish to me...the extra cost of getting playing and medical staff to games which were separate to the league would be prohibitive...plus the cost of ground hire, security etc just doesn't make sense.

And as sad as it to say this, many people have now drifted away from the Wafl. One only needs to look at last seasons match attendances.
And the review findings should be released soon also. I was on the understanding it to be in March?
