After the massive support shown by the WAFL, AFL, TV and the general public I expect State games to go the way of State of Origin and the dodo. Ames injury will hurt Swans immensely. Why risk it for no gain for the WAFL comp at all? No promotion, no telecast of any substance and no crowd at all. Announce the State Team but no game just like the All Australian selections. Did our comp no favours at all today. Just made a point that we compete against Ammos.

Yours and others words that I take umbrage with - and as I stated I am sure the players would regard the game a little higher than the phrases used here.

Growler I think most people here are intelligent enough to make a distinction between criticism of the concept of playing a inter league (note not an interstate game) in front of nobody with no promotion or coverage from the WAFL and then somehow tarnishing the reputations of the players who quite rightly were selected and of course they have a right to be proud of representing their state. Only one comment that you have reproduced above has mentioned the players in a critical way. A long bow methinks. But don't let me interrupt your umbrage.

Another give away you've supplied us is the fact that you don't see Qld & NSW as other states? let alone the inclusion of a territory - Oh, I guess that's the one that confused you??

By all means criticise the WAFL's ineptitude, they deserve it, the AFL's arrogance , they deserve it.
I would have thought we as supporters of the game would and should do all we can to stand alongside our State representatives and in doing so maybe choose our words a little more carefully

By the way my understanding of an interstate game is when one State plays another state e.g WA v Vic or WA v SA.

So the NEAFL is as you said quite rightly a combination of two states and a territory, so I struggle to see that players in that team could be thinking that they are representing their state or territory rather than their league which I think is more accurate.

I better not say any more for the fear of tarnishing our boys reputation further

I dont think you have Growler.. Bottom line and a good one.. SA and Victoria are states so it is a State v State game against 2 sides that come from 1 competition. eg SANFL and VFL.. Now we have the AFL throwing in this side that is 2 states and 2 Territories.. WOW they will be playing for STATE PRIDE/TERRITORY PRIDE but they have to take in a few guys from the other 3 Competitions..
SO THEY ARE NOT PLAYING FOR THEIR STATE OR TERRITORY but in a combination side with 3 partners..
Ok they win... Farken Hooray... everyone in NSW/ACT/QLD/NT will be out on the streets celebrating THEIR clubs win... No I dont thinks so. Actually none of the Aussie rules supporters in those states will even give a Fark Because their State/territory didnt do it on merit..

People support and have pride in their state/territory not a Combination side and it means nothing to them.

Hence I am happy WA won... but cannot really find it as an reason to Celebrate.

p.s CBC won 9.16 to Kalamunda 7.5. in the Amateur game I went to.

Great game of Footy and a good contest until Kal ran out of legs in the last qtr. Good to see a few x WAFL players running around as well.
