I'm not sorry to say that your comments guys are an absolute insult to the players representing the State!! whether you realise it or appreciate the sourness of them

The players pride in receiving state selection and their efforts today deserve better than being tarnished by your judgemental drivel

Yes the WAFL are a joke and their lack of ownership of this game has been an abysmal disappointment and an embarrassment to the game itself, the AFL have also shown themselves up as self serving elitists' - a total lost opportunity for the WA footy supporters

I am not offended Cardy - Just disappointed that your moralistic endeavours of doing it as a 'service' to OZFOOTY, the members , the guys who watch footy and want the scores etc etc etc doesn't include respect for the actual players themselves?

Ashton Hams won the Simpson Medal for best on Ground apparently.
A great effort by the guys. But why oh why oh why is the attendance figure too low!?? One report said 500 people were there? Or was I hearing things? I wonder what attendances for a normal nefl match are? Does anyone know?

So Growler, everyone who disagrees with you is a "negative plodder" are they? How generous. Can't speak for Cardy but if you bothered to read my post you would see that I did not criticise the players and of course it is an honour to be picked for any representative team, but you have to keep it in perspective. Their opposition was drawn from 3 different states in an obviously weaker competition. They also did not train together as a group until the Thursday before the game. The NEAFL have shown up the incompetence of the WAFC by providing far more publicity and a live feed of the game. We had a chance to showcase the WAFL competition with a full round of fixtures on a day when there were no AFL games in Perth but what we had was nothing.

Quite a bad write up but the only one available I'm afraid. Hopefully, they'll add on to it.

Excellent result for our comp.

After beating Vic last year this shows we still have a good standard of player running around in the WAFL.

A crack at the SANFL at one of our grounds next year would be nice.

Its not that posters here have 'disagreed with me' - its the manner in which they and you have stated your disregard & distaste for the game that concerns me and then eventual on flow of those comments tarnishing the players
eg as below quotes:-

“Who really cares Astro.. It is an non-event and a circus put on by the AFL. It doesn’t prove or achieve anything.”
“The whole exercise is a waste of time and money. Don’t know if it even being called on radio in WA.. Now can you take it seriously?”
“All a waste of time. Just hope none of our players get injuries through this game.”
“Hey it is great that our WAFL guys are getting a state jumper and representing the state and nothing against them but as some posts suggest maybe those state jumpers could of gone to other more deserving players.”

Yours and others words that I take umbrage with - and as I stated I am sure the players would regard the game a little higher than the phrases used here.
