There are many on here with opposing views to Anchorman and I am one of those on certain things. But he is entitled to his view just like the rest of us.
The problem with this alignment is that I think none of us really know what went on. There is so many views of what has happened and what has been reported and I also think a lot of it makes little sense. Yet it happened anyway.

The G7 walked into a meeting where a deal had already been done with East Perth and Peel, the mistake they made is that they should have stood up that night but instead they apparantly left the meeting and then complained the next day.

That was the night they should of just stood up and said it will not be happening and the 7 clubs will forfeit all matches against the two aligned clubs.

The G7 got stronger over the next few weeks but ultimately they were weak and like anchorman said it seems it was just about money.

That is correct Mark but as a group they did nothing. In their defence though they were a bit shell shocked I think.
The problem Mark is words mean nothing, action means everything.
We all know they have been bullied by the two AFL clubs and it is no coincidence that we have not heard boo from either of the AFL clubs since that meeting.

Well it has been finalized today..Cooper and his cronies have got their way.
Source WAFL site or should it be the AFL ROYALS AND THUNDER SITE
5 Million is a lot of money (well not really in the context of what they make)

WAFC finalises Partnering Club model
Tuesday, 29 January 2013 09:30

THE West Australian Football Commission has finalised details for the WAFL Partnering Club model to commence in 2014 for a minimum term of five years.

The model confirms the original financial investment of more than $5 million into the West Australian Football League from 2014 to 2018, a total packaged amount of $150,000 per annum for each Non-Partnering Club.

WAFC Chairman Frank Cooper said the financial component had been determined following extensive consultation with all nine WAFL clubs and careful consideration of feedback. REALLY FRANK...NEVER HEARD A SUPPORTER ASKED AND YOU SHOVED IT IN THE PRESIDENTS FACE WITH OUT ANY CONSULTATION...

“Following discussions, the WAFC recognised the importance of an increased allocation to the WAFL clubs in the initial years to assist them in strengthening their balance sheets and long-term financial sustainability,” he said.

“The football family has worked hard together to develop this Partnering Model in the best interests of WA Football overall. It will provide an opportunity to build a sustainable platform for the WAFL, while also meeting the needs of WA’s AFL clubs in a win-win for all parties.

“Importantly, the WAFL Clubs keep their identities, heritage and control over their future, the District pathway remains the same and major new funding is delivered to the WAFL.

"We are pleased that the AFL Clubs will now have a real incentive in ensuring the football family develops a strong and sustainable WAFL competition.

“Continued monitoring will ensure that any issues result in an immediate review with appropriate changes to maintain an even competition,” he said.

“I would also like to acknowledge the leadership and contribution of the WAFL club Presidents and CEOs, AFL clubs and WAFC staff and congratulate them on their hard work in bringing this concept to fruition.”

My OPINION gws is as I said before. The G7 knew they were snookered and the only way to retain some sort of dignity was to chase more money so that it looked like they were trying to do something. They were ambushed by 2 unethical ex WAFL clubs and we all know what ethics AFL clubs have. AFL clubs + AFL reserve clubs + WAFC was just too much to mount a fight against.

And there will be a long-term push to "naturalise" the East Perth and Peel lists over time so that, other than AFL-listed players, they will eventually contain no out-of-zone players unless they become uncompetitive. quote from Cooper chairman WAFC.

Interesting I take that to read if between the AFL players and the local zoned players they become uncompetitive they will be able to recruit from outside their zone. Incredible what do they class the AFL players playing for their clubs??
These 2 clubs will have more OUT OF ZONE players playing for them than any other WAFL club!!!

Gee thats a big call.. Does this mean if other clubs become uncompetitive e.g Perth they will make changes and give them extra benefits?
Bit like Peel over the last couple of years?

Why would EP and Peel become UNCOMPETITIVE? If they are to Competitive and dominate will they put restrictions on how many AFL players can play for them.

So the WAFC has dreams of making it even playing field by moving things around and changing the rules again... IT WONT WORK.
It appears to me the WAFC is bending over backwards for the AFL Teams and these two traitorous clubs.

The whole arrangement is a Farking mess rushed through to cater to Freo and Eagles.
It borders on criminal.

Oh well I suppose the WAFL supporters will talk with their feet. Not that the WAFC AND cooper GIVE A CARE.
(not the small case because he is a small man)

Anchorman are you a love child of the Fremantle football Club or are you actually Frank Cooper? :)

Well said Cardy ...interestingly the last time this host club rubbish was in effect from 99-02 coincided with some of the WAFL's poorest ever attendance figures in the 127 year history of the competition! No doubt anchorman would be all over that fact, tho only if it is on Fremantle's big footy forum or the dockerland website!!
