One thing anchorman says is right. Just because players are on an afl list doesnt make them good players. God knows I've seen that at Subi (clancy, Jack etc etc). Yeah, I hope its a disaster for em all. Now Subi dont HAVE to play a player that gets one handball for a whole game and is guaranteed a game the next week., And werent the dorks struggling to get one team on the park a couple of years ago - complete duds were given afl debuts just to make up numbers? Its all a bloody mess

They certainly dont get DRAFTED because they are bad players

It is all one Big Con by the big boys with the money... Yeh Vin I am depressed as well because it will destroy our great comp that was starting to recover with the crowds and TV ratings etc. Should of stuck with the original 8 teams and we would be miles in front. All that money that went to PEEL could of been used to support the other 8. They will never replay their debt to the WAFL and have reneged big time. Out of this they have a nice new stadium (Gee surprise dont tell me this plan to align wasnt in the plannin stage when this happened)

Bugger I have packed the fishing gear and the van and off to Bremer for a week of Fishing and drinking... Have a good week. (that doesnt include the WAFC guys who will rot in HELL  )

I think you have got a good point Vin.
Sometimes teams can operate better with a stable structure and the comings and goings of the AFL players has not helped this in the past. If a G7 club can become strong enough thru promotion of local talent and with selective recruiting it could possibly have the advantage of stability against the other two. I'm hoping so anyway!

Come on when you get your 2 or 3 AFL players in your side it certainly lifts them and I know at WP we always did well with our AFL players who were usually WP boys.
Claremont and East Fremantle dont seem to have done to bad last year with their big AFL lists. Sorry cant agree with that arguement..
Now multiply that small group by 5 = 12-15 players from the AFL group and it is a big ask for our semi professional teams to beat them even with a regular structure.

2013 will be another CLA v EF GF my money is on that. Why because of their AFL lists. Not running down their regular group as they have some bloody good players their as well and depth but bottom line it is the AFL group and x AFL group who make the difference.

My point though Cardy is that the players now coming back to EP and Peel have no affinity for these clubs and are all only looking to impress and get back/ into the AFL. I know that they are all talented players but I am more interested in how the team dynamics will operate in these circumstances.
I have often looked at a team on paper and thought yes we have a number of the AFL players in the side and so on ability we should win this game, this has not always eventuated and I wonder if the constant shuffling of the host teams lineups will not be detrimental to the teams.

Will say it again.

Freo should have taken Peel and changed them to Mandurah Dockers. This club should have had a smaller zone to recruit from.

WC should have formed a new team in the northern corridor. Joondalup Eagles. This club should have had a smaller zone to recruit from.

Price paid to the traditional eight clubs (none of which would have lost their integrity) to be around the same as that is on the table at the moment.

This would have seen the introduction of only one new team.

These players would have been found easily because Peel (Mandurah Dockers) would have lost 3 junior and 2 senior clubs from their zone. Traditional eight would have had more money to encourage players to play for a few dollars.

Astounding that someone playing a country team in Margaret River or Northam gets paid more than a WAFL player.

Still time. Those with on the inside consider.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Peel Thunder and their jumper having non playing Freo players playing for them has no fan fare.

East Perth Royals and their jumper (sadly now days has little fan fare). Having non playing WC players playing for them has no added fan fare.

Mandurah Dockers and the Joondalup Eagles with the same jumper and club song and administration would have immense fan fare, exposure, bells and whistles, cred, respect and interest.

This would follow on to the our great WAFL
