A/man - just a quick note to let you know that I am back. I haven't read all the postings on this topic. However, what I do know is that it is a sad year for the WAFL. We have 7 traditional WAFL clubs left and a soulless 'Peel Thinder' and a club formerly known as the East Perth Football Club. I can almost understand why Peel did what they did; however, it is irreconcilable what East Perth did and to any long standing East Perth supporter it is a situation I would not like to face.

I sincerely hope that the junior clubs taken from Swans and given to East Perth will now be returned to Swans.

Also, I will be interested to see how the WAFC can reconcile the salary cap and points limits to the untainted WAFL clubs as opposed to Peel Thunder's and the club formerly known as East Perth's salary cap and points limit.

Thanks 58S. It is good to be back. I look forward to continuing the repartee on this new forum. There are some major problems looming and hopefully a few decisions will be be made for the good of the WAFl (though it may be a forlorn hope).

Thanks for that a/man. I am sure we will have some interesting exchanges of views. Not to be too provocative: how many Peel (come Dockers) WAFL matches will you be watchig?

Also, how long do you think it will be until Peel and the team formerly known as East Perth will play matches at Subiaco before the Dockers and Eagles AFL matches?

Was at Leederville Saturday, the marriage between Thunder and FFC not going to script after listening to heated discussion at the back of the stand!
Can see fireworks here-what did they expect!
As for my old boys we just marginally better than Thunder.

Swan I hope they don't do it.It would be a slap in the face for the WAFL competition and the supporters of both clubs. It would rob the Peel and EP members of seeing their team play as they wouldn't be able to get tickets to either of the sides games.
I really can't see that happening.

I can see that happening.

As if they care what their supporters think.

The inequalities of this alignment are stepping up already. Why the WAFC have not sepped in has got me stufted.
Extra coaches, strength and conditioning coaches from AFL clubs at PT and EPFC just to name a few.
WAFC said something about stat decs' well when does it start.Week as piss by WAFC!
I hope PT and EP now rot in hell

Listening to WAFL WORLD on 91.3 and they said there is already a lot of players pissed off and the rumblings have started after just a couple of games. Surely they saw it comming? So much for a doorway for the SW leagues players who want to play at the top level. For a lot of personal reason they will not choose to move to Perth to play games.
Peel and EP will just sit in limbo this season and see it out as in 2014 they will be a full AFL reserves side. There ressies will be practically a League side as the players who are up to League standard will only get a game in that grade.

Its a Dogs Breakfast at both clubs...

Cardy, I have learnt that there is so much wisdom to be culled from the comments on here and from the media in Perth but I am not sure where this is from, certainly at EP with the players I talk to at training and on game day the feeling is one of play this year and see what develops next year with contracts, opportunities and the rest of the process at EP not elsewhere.

The development process this year from colts to reserves is great with the ressies being largely last years colts with some older players in the mix.

It is still not flash as an outcome for the club in the long term but as it stands now - no change just a new coach and the same assistants he had when they were all paid by BHP and the State government under the agreement between SDFC and those entities. Same group different paymaster!
