What can the clubs do to get crowds. 11 years 1 week ago #33115

The idea about the WAFL joining the SANFL to form a comp sound plausible, but the WAFC and forward thinking don't go hand in hand.

Big mistake not having the two AFL teams having their own reserves, this alignment situation imo makes the WAFL less relevant than it already is, I give the Wafl two to three years and there will be a couple of hundred attending games which will be made up of mostly friends and family of the players.

I have asked a question and all every one does is go back to whinging whining and moaning about how bad the alignment is going to be.You sound like a bunch of moaning old women.forgive me if there are any ladies here.
Al least I can say I live in the present and not way back in the 60s or the 80s.
Fair dinkum you blokes never cease to amaze me.S&S I read the Fremantle club year book and the report.Do your self a favour and find one and read it before you come up with your B/S.
Once again another topic hijacked by the wannbebebackinthe60s.
I knew it was only a matter of time before the Swans barrage began.
But hey each to his own.Whine away fellas, whine away.Or is that wine away!!!!!!

Anchorman you did ask a question and many of us have put something forward, someone has now asked you a few posts back for you to put your idea's forward and you have gotten angry? Like you I have adjusted to the modern world, doesn't mean i like it but footy is what it is now. Not everyone has to agree mate.

GWS I appreciate what you are saying but I put my solution forward. As far as Swan is concerned then I could say that Swan Districts wear black and white and he would find some fault with it.
Therer are some who have put forward an idea or two but most have repeated the same old stuff.Read jardines post he says so as well.
It just disappoints me that people still are moaning and groaning about the alignment all the time. Will these same people come here in five years time if the WAFL has prospered from this alignment!!!
maybe from here in I will comment only on my mighty Dockers and leave the whingers to there self pity.
Ahhh they wish lol.
but thanks GWS.Appreciated.

The extended VFL should drop 4 vic teams to make it a 14 team comp with each team playing the other 13 teams twice once at each others home deck for a 26 round comp. This would make it a true AFL.

Then the State leagues could be like they use to be.

Everyone would have a local club and an AFL club.

North back to the VFL or merge with GC.
Footscray back to the VFL or merge with West Sydney.

Saint Kilda back to the VFL or merge with Port Adelaide Falcons

And the next broke club from Vic to not be given another dollar but back to the VFL or a Merge with Melbourne.

WC to be called Perth

New medals for the AFL.

Crowds would increase in both competitions.

Who watches Collingwoood play GWS??

14 power AFL teams
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

St Kilda colours with Falcons name. Cant have a ridiculous name like power in the real AFL.

Fremantle could re-brand and morph into the Cockburning Painters & Dockers
... and their reserves side could be the Peel Poofters

I reckon in 10 - 20 years they will just be known as the dockers, despite what they say now, once they leave Fremantle the connection will fade.

I've read the Fremantle Press Release in relation to the plans for the old fremantle oval site and I quote

The Fremantle Facility is already out of date compared to other AFL club facilities, the new Cockburn facility will provide a state of art training and admistration center into the future.

FFC will work in conjunction with the Fremantle City Council to find a future use for the facitily at Fremantle oval, this could include mixed Business, Retail and Community use.

How do you get Fremantle will be using it as a training and admin base out of that?

In other words they are farking off and handing it over to whoever wants it.

I will repeat for the slow learner amongst us (we all know who that is) the only thing Fremantle about the Fremantle Football Club is the name!
