Curtain Raisers to VFL gigs played here ... equally shared amongst all the League sides ( with gate share receipts funnelled back as well )

Heritage rounds inaugurated to say two or three per year in addition to the indigenous round

Rivalry round also introduced - two per year

Local Councils and State Govt to pump the WAFL at School level as a matter of community importance and Pathway to employment as well as Wellbeing

Lotteries Commision to be approached for community grants to assist the above

Derbies are stand alone anchordude - self explanatory ..... there are other fierce battles besides even if they are recent ones to kick it off.... such as Swans v Claremont for one example

the heritage rounds could include original guernseys - this wouldn't necessarily line up with any particular teams but you could combine it

Also I don't accept that the VFL sides or commission piss over us in regard to curtain raisers - it's a no brainer concept , showcase the roots of the game , it's a winner even if the receipts are small
(Don't think the VFL spies wouldn't like vision of youth talent on stage under pressure situation for real)

No mate - do not misunderstand my sarcasm of that organisation , I will always refer to your AFL as the VFL .... because that is exactly what it is .... the VFL , why are the HQ's based in Melbourne if it is a true Aussie league ???? Why did Geelong get a finals game at Kardinia Park out of the blue ??? that sort of shizz for examples .... they prop up inferior , underperforming , dismal teams year after year , the rorting of Drafts , drugs etc
Sorry if that pisses you of Anchordude - cold hard fact.

But back to your question - VFL oops sorry AFL game curtain raisers :P

Cripes I am not grabbing your beer by mistake at the members (after you have paid your 2014 Centurion membership ;) ) My nutbags will be in extreme peril :cheer:

They've got to get more kids involved at school levels - if the kids get a gig at their zoned clubs , the parents , relatives and friends turn up to watch .... bada bingggggggg your crowds and potential new members !!!!

I give you some ideas , not the solutions

Nothing is simple in life really ... except I suppose if you are a kid maybe

So you would also be suggesting picking a shopping centre in your zone each week and getting your brand out there with whatever offers/attractions you wish to sell ... to get bums on seats - new , old or curious

Sending your volunteers and staff out on a random zone doorknock .... stick some adverts in the community newspaper with your stars up front

Using WAFL games asAFL curtain raisers just won't work. Firstly the ground has to be clear 90 minutes before the AFL game starts so the WAFL game would finish too early. Secondly the AFL are always fully sold out or nearly sold out so there is no room to bring extra people to the ground. The idea of splitting the gate between the AFL/WAFL teams is just too stupid to even discuss.

Both WCE and Fremantle have 40k odd supporters going to football games every second week. Need to get some of those to go to a WAFL game on the off week. One or two WAFL family passes to these members might rekindle interest and encourage them to go to more games. Or maybe instead of the passes a good advertising campaign advertising WCE/Fremantle members get $10 entry to WAFL games before 1pm.

WCE have had a waiting list for memberships for nearly 10 years. Fremantle are nearly at that point. Maybe include a limited form of WAFL membership (access to all members areas and activities but no voting rights) with each waiting list membership.

Always liked a $10 levy on the two AFL club memberships. Each WCE/Fremantle member is asked what WAFL club they support, if they don't have a club then allocate them the club they belong to as part of the WAFL zone. The proceeds from the levy are split evenly amongst the WAFL clubs (should be roughly $900k or $100k each club). Also the details of each member is handed to the appropriate WAFL club who can send membership correspondence, newsletters or home game details.

Also don't give the Budget free with every paid entry, only WAFL members get the Budget free. Cut entry price back to $12, $15 with a Budget.

Strippers and pole dancers at half time might get a few more at the games

A/man, I don't like your summer league idea. Players need the break from playing. Do think there should be a Friday night game played every week early in the season when the weather is still warm.

Sunday games could be looked at again, I know players don't like them because they leave the club late and they have to work on Monday. Maybe try a 12 noon start? Sunday games would allow people who play amateurs on Saturday a chance to attend games.

This is what I was thinking. It would be high traffic and the demographic clubs want.

The WAFL has made a mistake with its promotion IMO. They basically purely advertise the football. They can't. The AFL will always be a higher standard and more popular product so why would people go to the WAFL?

They need to push the environment. I'd get a series of banners made, perhaps one with Naitanui, one with Notte taking a hanger, one with a family on the grassy banks supporting the team and one of kids on the field kicking the footy. I'd get a couple of hundred club balloons printed and a helium kit. Then have a couple of supporters in club gear interacting with the community at the shopping centre dishing out balloons.

They need to push the angle that it's a great place to take kids and support local footy of a traditional style. Show that's there's fun for the whole family as the kids can kick the footy or roll down the hill whilst dad watches a good game of footy.
