saw some of the games , might get a better idea when sides are at full strength but West Perth and East Fremantle would be pretty filthy with themselves after their round 1 games but look like they'll be playing finals anyway
For some reason I doubt Joondalup were on the wrong end of a 27 to 15 free kick count.

EF no better Ti Em with that 26-13 free kick count in favour of Freo Thunder. But that's footy, will even itself out over the year. EF played some good footy up until 3rd quarter time, then went to sleep as Freo Thunder stepped on the gas.

In my living memory.I can't remember West Perth winning back to back premierships. They normally have a bad season after a premiership win.

there were some questionable decisions paid at Mandurah but at least a couple of them were "sucked in"  type jobs - it's where games can and are lost every single season
probably the one big comment you could make was how much East Fremantle needed a big mark in their forward line in that last quarter - they had a big enough lead
but instead that happened at the other end

No surprise that a team loaded with fulltime pro's would run over the top of a team of part timers and EF would be one of the fitter outfits going around being coached by Billy. Unless your 6 r 7 goals up at 3/4 time they will run over any team when AFL loaded.

4 rounds into the season and there are no unbeaten sides, there have been a number of close fought games and last seasons premiers have had a bit of a stuttering start. Hopefully Perth will get their first win of the board on Saturday, their effort against the Sharks last week was much improved. Apart from the obvious blight on the competition which is the West Coast Eagles, things look good for a tightly run race for finals spots. With both WA AFL teams seemingly cooked for this season, this is an opportunity for the WAFL to attract people to the games when they are going to see close competitive contests in the main.
I notice also that the Adelaide Crows reserves are 2nd on the SANFL ladder so I wonder if they are set up differently to the Eagles (e.g in an alignment arrangement)

The SANFL model gives no latitude for the two AFL sides - there are strict quotas around lists and recruiting so that the competition isn't compromised at all
SANFL made it clear that their comp was paramount and they were free to play in VFL if they didn't like it

The Crows created their own ressies team, much like WC, Port Power obviously took over control of the existing Port Magpies as an aligned team, not sure what rules and restrictions apply for these two SANFL/AFL teams but both have been very competetive at times, the Crows went fairly deep into finals last year and the Magies played in a losing GF v Sturt I think a few years back.
Like with WCER and Peelmantle, it all depends on injuries in their AFL lists.

When Port took over the magpies in the sanfl they had a league and a  sanfl reserves side  but no colts team.I did some research and that was stopped in 2019.So both clubs only have a league side in the sanfl comp.I suppose port also having a ressies team may have been a advantage over the crows who only had a league team.I also noticed Kochie threatening to move the Power to the vfl and bringing up the old card about how much money we contribute and how the other clubs want us to be uncompetitive.
