Like always it depends on who can keep their best 22 on the paddock on a regular basis. EF nearly made it after losing plenty of players before and during so if they can have a decent run they are the team to beat. Joondy will have to buck the history odds to win back to back, something they have rarely if ever done and Claremont as always are right in the mix.

1. EF
2. CL
3. WP
4. SF
5. Peel

6. SU
7. SD
8. P
9. EP
10. WCER

The top 5 I think are pretty easy to pick the order, the bottom 5 are anyones guess imho.

Premiers - EF
Sandover - Stef Giro
Austin Robertson medal - Ben Sokol

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Nobody has tipped the PFC to improve, usually the said improvement is all over the  press each year. It makes you wonder, I say, especially as the Demons have recruited a premiership coach.

Ark, IMO there won’t be too much improvement in the first year under German as he is starting with a pretty inexperienced (aka crap) squad. I expect to see some improvements in year 2 and 3 especially if recruits start to see us as a viable destination. But for 2023 i think the current guesses of bottom 3 are most likely.

Claremont to go one better this year with WP snapping at their heels. EP to sneak into the 5

Still time for Perth to pick up a few decent NY recruits, though I agree with Satan, 2024/25 is where Perth should reap the benefits of that off field coaching team.....though the AFL is an ever interfering beast that can snatch a club's season life line with a few sneaky last minute/midseason phone calls.

2023 for Perth, could either be a case of beginners luck for German, with a few early wins, then success tails off when normal service resumes. Or  they are slow out of the starting blocks, and then come home like a  train, giving the Perth fans hope for the following year. Kinda like what Monaghan did with EF in 2021 and then in 2022.

I agree with the premise that improvement in ladder position may be limited in 2023. What we hope to see though will be steady improvement in fitness, basic skills and adherence to game plan. Importantly we should expect to see a new club culture emerging.
2023 should sort out the new squad and we will have a better idea where players fit in or not. I think that we will have some new faces appearing by the start of 2024 pre-season.
All being equal, season 2024 will be when we see all of the above gaining steady momentum.

There is a buzz building for Perth. "Get Perth a premiership" could become a thing. A movement. Buddy could be the key.

In the meantime,
