we are about to see a new low in the West Coast Eagles WAFL team. According to the West Australian, they currently only have 26 fit players and they will have to name then all in their squad for their away game V Richmond. The game is on Saturday so if they take them all over to Melbourne including emergencies, there will be noone left to play in the WAFL game at Lathlain on Saturday afternoon. I wonder if they will ask for a postponement? 

Not a fan of WCE or their WCER set up, but pretty sure similar set ups in SA haven't experienced the injury purge WCE is having right now. 17 players is ridiculously high for any squad  at any level. Nisbett through arrogance and belligerence for wanting WCE to have its squad playing as one, has definitely reaped a possibility of what he has sowed. 

It's not even June yet and the season is already effectively over for four teams in a 9 team competition.

I certainly wasn't thinking this about week ago,when we were heading into the second quarter time on period,39 points ahead of a goalless Claremont,but it already  appears at this early stage,that the top 5 is already done and dusted.

Seems that Claremont are the Collingwood of the WAFL, can never be counted out of games. EF showed yesterday they are getting back to the form that would indicate they will be contenders, Peelmantle doing what a team loaded with full time pro's should do. Will be interesting to see the gnashing of teeth, wringing of hands and howls of unfairness if they take another fake flag. Fingers crossed, Freo have an Eagles like injury run and fairness returns to the WAFL. Joondy are cruising along and will only get better as they get their injured players back, Subi have shown both sides of what they can do, great wins v WP & CL, almost threw away the Souths game, then got torched by a very good Sharks. Lots of youngsters in the team this year so consistency may be an issue. East Perth have the squad to really cause some strife if they can ever put 4 qtrs together, is it a fitness issue that they seem to fade late in games? Souths are now on the board and will also cause the top 5 problems but at 1 and 5 (officially) hard to see then challenging. Like EP, Swans cant put 4 qtrs together, been stiff not to be at least 3 and 3 if not  better, maybe mental rather than fitness? Perth are, well Perth, but their lower grades are providing some hope for the future. And who gives a rats about WCER.

I can’t see Treacy and Amiss playing for Peel again unless their form drops off. WP and EF for the GF for me if both are near full strength.

Apparently Claremont are sitting on 3$ and 30c for outright. West Perth and East Fremantle are both just under 5$. Subi have leapt up to 5 dollars 50. South Fremantle at 15 and East Perth on 19 are the roughies. And the rest start planning for next season.

Looks like 3 teams will be fighting for that 5th spot.The top 4 is already set in stone.

Subi V Swans..Swans will be competitive ,but will find a way to lose.
EP and SF will be chasing big wins.
