Hopefully that is the last ever WAFL GF at an archaic suburban venue and it is locked in at Optus Stadium for good.
It might have looked ok to those not there but it was not the case when stuck in the outer, you couldnt hear the audio, lack of shelter from the baking sun (and if it were a wet day the rain), viewing was difficult from certain areas etc etc.....
The WAFL GF should be a marquee event and thus displayed at our best stadium otherwise the WAFL is reduced to Amateur & Country level status.

It won't be the last if it's played in October.

At the time it was  rumored of a fallout between Coach Harris. And star player Jye Bolton.
One of them had to go and the Claremont board chose Bolton over Harris .
Like yesterday Claremont had a lot of footy in the last qtr of that GF.
The way footy was played two years ago Claremont just had to many men behind the ball. And South just kept running the ball out of there defense.
Yesterday Claremont struggled with the strong breeze in the last qtr.

Prescott summed it up perfectly in the press when he said skill errors cost Claremont the flag. They had more possessions, inside 50s and time in forward half but were wasteful when they had it. That was partly due to Joondy's tackling pressure which they won 92 to 58.

Also a dream run from the maggots with 17 free kicks to 8 also helped Joondy which isn't unexpected as it's pretty much a weekly occurrence.

Inaccuracy in the first half was very costly for Claremont but winners are grinners and if you don't nail it on the big stage then you've only got yourself to blame.

This following a 17 to 9 free count in the 2nd semi. 34 to 17 across both games is handy. They did lay 92 tackles yesterday so would bring more holding the balls into. But tackles potentially could bring negative consequences too.

should have a royal commission into it.It is not just this year it seems the last severall they have been on the positive side whereas i would think east perth, subi and the afl reserves sides  would be in the negative for free kicks.

For at the very least the last 15 years WP have been at the top end of the free kicks for count.
That is, to say the least, more than an anomaly or coincidence!

Has anyone else lost three grand finals without winning the flag?
