Roman that's one option if they cant see there way clear to have our GF on the same weekend as the AFL GF. Spread over 2 weeks with a full round on the first Saturday, then a full round on the following Thursday or Friday then a full round on the following Wednesday then a full round on the Sunday or something like that. only issue is that the midweek games would need to be at night, so how many night venues do we have? Leederville, Freo and Lathlain, does Claremont have lights suitable for game play or just training lights. If this is done at the end of the season it will be a bit warmer as well.

For me, just play the GF on the same weekend as the AFL but on the Sunday or Monday holiday, WC or Freo probably wont make finals or if they do will be out early so there will be little interest in the AFL apart from the expats.

sounds like there are no guarantees - plan for 7 more starting from this week
a good idea would be two double headers or even one triple header - reserves & colts on the weekend

Following WAFL closely on social media. Isn't it funny that its only the handful of us on here that seem to give a crap?

Why do these goons at the WAFC constantly refuse to play the WAFL GF after the afl version?
Many people are hanging for some more footy after that afl game and the WAFL GF would foot the bill perfectly.
If they had it on the Sunday there is a Public Holiday Monday to recover as well.

Yep, sounds perfect to me. I'm sure a bigger crowd would attend also.

Or are we "told" not to by the AFL?
That would be the exact answer LH.
All of those goons at the WAFC are either afl wannabes or from Vic eg- the new ceo Michael Roberts & the wafl bloke Scott Baker!

I am just hoping something is announced very soon rather than leaving it late - that gives ample opportunity for clubs to do something rather than lose out

Give them a break Southerner, they are busy counting their salary rather than earning it.

'Round 29' was used on the website earlier in the year when the WAFLW comp had a round postponed so it's just a place to hold the round until a decision is announced.
Scott Baker (a South Aussie, not a Vic by the way) was on SportFM last week saying that the option he liked was pushing the season back two weeks so the GF was held after the AFL finished and holding the postponed fixtures in the gap that is created.
