Any danger of any WAFLsomniacs explaining how burning through 60+ MILLION Dollars in 6 years is intelligent business. Seems to be overlooked far too much. Cant wait for the grown up discussions around proportionate representation either. I hope Sam Birmingham is asked to apply for the WAFC CEO job, seems like the only person i have seen so far in the current debates that doesn't have his head up his bum.

David Armstrong did a great job as well. 2.4mil in the bank under Davids watch.
Sam to the WAFC.
WAFL to hire David as a mentor as a side gig to his current role..

Birmingham and Armstrong have been a very good partnership. Generally speaking Community Football in both Metro and Country have had some very good leaders in both Board and Staff roles. I think the amateurs hit their straps when the clubs cleaned out some of the dead wood. I guess that is the dynamic you get when there are 70 clubs competing for promotion and relegation under a business model where they are self financed.

Why is this news.

The WCE and Dockers have never ever been clubs, they are Franchises run by the WAFC on behalf of the AFL.

But the WAFC is really just a puppet of the two franchises, it cannot survive without the AFL revenue, so in turn the real control is with the AFL.

As I predicted the AFL has had a good laugh at WA once again handing the GF to Qld.

Are you suggesting its the WAFL clubs who have "burned through 60 million bucks?"
This is the question everybody's asking, where does all this money go because it seems to go mostly to inflated staff numbers at the WAFC. To suggest WAFL clubs are burning through all this supposed dough that they're supposedly rolling in seems to me ridiculous.

Does that include all the AFL disbursements to WAFL Clubs?

Also waiting for someone to realise the 11 million dollars the government gives to the WAFC every year is not a grant like The West keeps reporting. It's a contractual agreement between the government and the WAFC over the ending of the very long term lease of Subiaco Oval. Almost impossible for the government to take away like they are threatening to do.

Dont bank on, Mcgowan just legislated away the rule of law to sort Palmer out, nothing is ever out of the question now.

In fact it could legislate away the whole WAFC, given it was them that created it in 89.

And don't forget it was our premier earlier this year who said the rule book had been thrown out the window. Not sure if he's been outside to pick it up as yet.
