t-m- good question
short answer is I would sympathise with most of it
draft should be twenty
ground sharring subject to members votes
peel lose country zone
the idea with Rorigues Shield is a good one indeed. It would give the women's matches meaning without interferring with the traditional colts, reserves, league
each club should play one home game at the WACA with compensation

What do you think tm?

West Perth to return to Leederville. Share ground with East Perth.

Subi to share with Claremont. 5 million on new turf.

SF to share with EF @ Fremantle oval. 15 million to realign the oval to the Heritage stand and new clubrooms

Perth to the WACA. 200 million to realign the oval and stands to AFL standard. 20K capacity. All major Cricket played there. No Cricket at Optus. Cricket belongs at the WACA. Sort out road work into and out. Not too short like the SCG. To be home of WA Footy (The GF etc) along with obvious home of WA cricket. Massive and quality museum for both. Cable stand. Get that pool in there as well. Parking, Bars. East Perth can come over if that helps. That way I guess Subi could stay at Leederville.

Joondalup Hawkes. Underwritten by the Joondalup city council.

Peel Chunder name changed to Mandurah Dolphins and they stay away from Freo.

10 teams playing the other 9 twice. A bye in the middle of the season for a state game.

Colts, Ressies and League in that order.

Each club aiming to have a veterans team 50 and over to play on Sunday @ 12, followed by a their womens team @ 2PM. All the 50 plus would spend plenty at the bar after to make it profitable. These matches count towards the Rodreigus Shield.

AFL teams caped at 38. Can't play AFL unless you are 19. Cant be drafted interstate unless 19 at the start of that year.

All sorted.

Impossible. For a start Claremont's redevelopment doesn't cater for two clubs to be based there and even if they completely rip up and resurface they're always going to have problems with too much shade at the northern end of the ground. And the locals won't have as much time to walk Fido around for his daily poop.

We are going to have spanking new facilities within the next two years and our future is secure and we want complete control over our own facilities. Not told when we can and when we can't use it like a certain club based up north. But I don't think it makes sense having two teams in Fremantle.

Mandurah Sharks makes a lot of sense.

Agree with SF and EF ground sharing. Otherwise, I think we need fewer teams, not more. Talent is spread too thin otherwise. The most logical solution would be to scrap Peel. The veterans idea is a bit weird. I certainly would have no interest in watching people like myself play footy.

originally, when all this re-started nearly a decade ago -- afl teams, algnments -- there was almost universal opposition from the WAFL community. I think the vote against AFL teams was 9-0. Anybody whom has weakened in their opposition since, has just been conned.

Ground sharing in the WAFL is not really needed now with all WAFL teams (bar Peel in 2020) having a League, Reserves, Colts & Futures which is also replicated with the WAFLW having 3-4 grades that play on the alternate weekends when the WAFL side is away.
That is already a lot of ground usage especially when you throw in training nights etc the surfaces are already struggling. The idea of 3 teams sharing the 1 ground is so ridiculous it is not even worth posting let alone investigating!

bease: agreed, clubs do need to be their own masters as well; you would not get the CL proposal passed the Subi members.

you could just about bet your left cod there will be demands from the AFL clubs put forward in any allocation process - there may not be choice in where players end up or how many will be released
30 to 40% has to be cut from their spending and they'll be mean

What about this,

Scrap the Colts
Scrap the zones
Each suburban club develop juniors to 17.
Once 17 players nominate for the wafl draft. Bottom team gets 2 top picks, then the rest in reserve ladder order.
Whatever the club the draftee is from they get a cash payment of $20k.

Wafl two leagues, League and Reserves

East Fremantle/South Fremantle @ Fremantle Oval
Subiaco/West Perth @ Leederville Oval
Perth/East Perth @ WACA

Claremont @ Claremont
Swan Districts @ Bassendean
Peel @ Mandurah

Into the future bring Bunbury into the WAFL, then Kalgoorlie, and Geraldton.
