BH is right, this should not even be an issue in regards to local players; everybody on here knows, deep down, that Turnbill and Spinks should not have been taken from CL an South, respectively.

I'm afraid Ark that Turnbull was not taken,he and the Eagles had no choice but to look elsewhere when Neesham refused to play him and when his AFL career finished in 2001,he chose to stay at the Royals and had notched 150 games by the time he retired in 2004,and is still seen at Royals games today.

rl -- no, but that is okay. Neessham had every right to pick him in the reserves; RT, being a good footballer, would have won his place back in the league side and at the Eagles over time.

I don't think so Ark,Neesham and Malthouse were involved in a big battle of the ego's and Turnbull considers himself a Royal through and through just like his brother who become a team runner, and they're both still seen regularly at Royals games today.

 they were massive Swannies supporters growing up the Turnbull boys...surely bloodlines say they still have a little bit of love for the Black & Whites RL?! :cheer:

I believe their old man was a very good player for Swans so i'm sure they have a little bit of a soft spot for the Black Ducks B.H.

Ryan was doing special comments on the ABC for the 2010 WAFL GF and I reckon he might have been hoping the Black Ducks got up that day even though he played at Claremont for a short while before the Royals RL.
And yes his father John played over 200 games for the Black & Whites including 3 Premierships (1961, 62, 63) as well as for WA a number of times, was a very good footballer in his own right.

Therefore I am concerned there will be some sort of alignment situation. It could end up with 4 clubs taking WCE players and the other 5 clubs including Peel, taking the Fremantle players, if their alignment ends. Surely there won’t be a mixture of players from both AFL clubs playing at the same WAFL club.

Another chance for the not so royals to do the dirty again. Let’s face it, they have history at this sort of thing.

The biggest blight in WAFL football is your abomination of a ground, the sooner they bulldoze it like Richmond Raceway the better.

DD wrote: For all those know all's that predicted Perth would become the Eagles reserves team. Suck it up.

That opens the way for Brady Grey, Fraser McInness and Andrew Fisher to remain at Perth.

The article also says Peel president Ross Ditchburn wants to end the alignment with Fremantle when their agreement runs out at the end of next year so it looks like it's all going back to the old way pre alignments.

It could be this story being just a beat up.
Have been listening to all the radio news bulletins all day and have heard diddly squat about this story!
Surely if the story had legs, it would be on the news?
