Big week on OzFooty....

I will kick things off and do a preview for this weekends finals games.

Quinns (1st) vs Canning (2nd) @ Ridgewood Park
This one will be a cracker. The mighty undefeated Quinns outfit against the only team I believe who have what it takes to knock them off. As in previous posts, the flag is Quinns to lose - it is just a matter of whether they can continue their irresistible form under the pressure of finals. Canning had to fight hard to overcome a faster Mosman Park last week and I saw first hand how the lack of Tiger speed could hurt them in the finals - but in saying that, their experienced heads did get them over the line. Although I can't see Canning winning this one, I will be hoping for a close game.
Quinns by 4-goals

Mosman Park (3rd) vs Bassendean (5th) @ Tom Perrot Reserve
Mossie impressed me last week with their speed around the ground. They will be hurting after last week's loss and will look to make amends at thier home ground. They played 3/4 of good footy last week only to lose the game with a poor third quarter. Bassendean are a side who also have the speed and seem to have found some consistency come the right time of the year. They have arguably the best forward line in the competition but the question still has to be asked as to whether they have the mental capacity to prevail under the pressure of a final. With old heads like Ace in the side, I will back them in this week. As always - I love a fairy-tale in footy.
Bassendean by 2-goals

Quinns Reserves (1st) vs Canning Reserves (3rd) @ Ridgewood Park
I know very little about either of these teams. Quinns had a massive percentage during the season and clearly deserve the top billing here. The Tiger twos looked hungry last week, they out-ran and out-fought the Warnbro side for the ball. Purely because they are at home and deserved minor premiers, I can't go past the Bulls here.
Quinns by 3-goals

Warnbro Reserves (2nd) vs Swan Valley Reserves (5th) @ Tom Perrot Reserve
As per above, it is hard to comment on teams who I have seen little of, but watching last week, Warnrbo looked lackluster around the ball. I hear they had 4-sides playing last week and lost all games - that MUST hurt. With their League side being knocked out, the question must be asked - have they a couple of handy in's this week? The grape-eaters from the Valley had a great win last week, only 15-points but looking at the score, it should have been more. On assumption they had a strong side last week because their League side aren't playing finals as well, I would expect this game to be a cracker.
Warnbro by 4-goals

Swan View Colts (1st) vs Canningvale Colts (2nd) @ Brown Park
The one I have been waiting for in the LK Colts. The record stands at 1-1 this season between clearly the two best Colts sides in the competition. The Viewers have taken all before them and although I have never seen so many tats or flat-peaked caps on a group of young guys - do not get me wrong.... they CAN play. Our CV Cubs have been strong all year, but rarely have played a full 4-quarter game of footy. They were bolstered by the addition of a couple of the League regulars last week and the scoreline showed the presence they had. Obviously, I am keen to see what the adventures of Kermit (the Swan View Coach/Runner) has in store this week, will be interesting to see if he can keep is head cool and his mouth shut under the pressure of a final. His last comment to our Coach was "you blokes won't make finals". Well we have and we are ready to play! I expect a cracker here and hopefully a well fought close game of footy - after all, these kids are the future.

Quinns Colts (3rd) vs Bassendean Colts (5th) @ Ridgewood Park
The Quinns side looked out of their depth last week against the Cubs. They were starved for the ball, out-ran and their forwards were simply not given a chance. Bassendean obviously had a good win against the Warnbro side - haven't heard anything about this game so I cannot comment. Purely on last week's effort, I will pick the Basso boys to be up and about.
Bassendean by 5-goals

As always, these are my opinions, I encourage you guys to comment and share. Look forward to a good weekend of C2 Footy - Good luck to all.

Good write up LAG as always! Be interesting to see if the conditions help Canning a bit, it's going to be wet and windy so their bigger bodies may come into it. Both league games should be crackers, if Basso get up again neither of the top two would be looking forward to playing them next week!

Obviously hope our ressies boys get up to carry the flag for another week, almost a home ground for them as it will be three weeks in a row at Mossie!

Keen to hear the Colts scores too, big win by CV last week and up against Swan View who are very very good.

Good luck to all!

ill get my bit in on the games this weekend.
should be a bit of rain about which should make games interesting!

League
Quinns v Canning SP
last time they met canning led all day till the final qtr when quinns smashed home 7 golas to 1 in the last to bring home a strong win! Quinns should get a big crowd at home with all 3 teams playing and no doubt will get right behind them.
CANNING by 1point

Mossie park v Bassendean
I think mossie play better at home but now face a very good and in form basso.
the mossie boys will be hungry after last week and the basso boys will keep chipping away and looking for wins. Basso maybe just the harder slog team while mossie will look to use there run and cleaner skills.
BASSENDEAN by 5points

RESERVES
Quinns v Canning SP
well Quinns had the week off and canning had a hard well earned win.
You would think that Quinns will be a lot fresh and canning a bit sore might make all the difference. but if canning play with that hunger they could just get there!
CANNING BY 2points

Swan Valley v Warnbro
Good win to the valley mob and warnbro use there second chance card!
how many sore bodies from warnbro from last week and how many league boys have played enough to play 2's?? i think this will help alot and the valley will need a heap of grape juice to get over the line.
WARNBRO by 5goals

colts
Quinns v Bassendean
after last weeks efforts i think quinns will be out to prove a point and not just making up numbers. basso will be no easey beat tho and have some quality players.
who the f**k are we BASSO by 4 goals

Swan view v Canningvale
will be a very good game with lots of young talent running around and after seeing canningvale first hand last week i think will give view a run for there money.
CANNINGVALE by 2 goals

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THIS WEEKEND

Quinns by 8 goals
Basso by 3 goals the small ground may not help but not having mossies ump may help. A good game shaping up. Need to stop Mossies mids, so Basso needs a lot of senior players to step up .

Colts
Vale by 6 goals
Basso by 4 goals have the colts got a couple from the league playing? Doubtful but they should do ok. Obviously won't get to this one as miles away from the league .
