Christ..the way you lot are going you'll want him let off with a reprimand and be eligible for the Brownlow. He threw a punch at an opponent that seriously hurt him and his intention is irrelevant.

Thats where u are wrong his intention is not irrelevant, especially when Muppets are comparing it to the Barry Hall incident.

the concept of mens rea or guilty mind might have some bearing in the criminal code but obviously not at the AFL tribunal. they will look at the action and the outcome which is why his offence has been graded at the highest level. when you throw a hay maker from your boots it's likely the outcome is not going to be great...so his intention will be listened to but I would think disregarded.

Yes, ive looked at the video over and over and today , the more I view it it actually looks worse, he aims for his face and lands punch.

Thats right muppets who dont know the differnce between a split lip and a broken jaw and 4 teeth knocked out.
If hall really wanted to do damage he would of put staker out for the rest of the season,Gaffs managed to do that to Brayshaw without even being a trained boxer.

It takes intent of both the mind and body to throw a punch -- thought-- action, it is as simple as that
