Could someone please explain to me what a dog act is?.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

BC wrote: yep...agree Dwert….the other interesting thing about this is that the former AFL Diversity Manager Ali Fahour was charged for whacking a bloke in an ammos game in Melbourne and was convicted and sentenced to community service. The bloke he hit wasn't injured anywhere near as bad as Brayshaw and it was in the middle of a brawl not off the ball and one on one...so I think there's still a few more twists and turns to be played out here.

Police Commissioner has apparently just confirmed they are interested in investigating.

Many people also said the footy grapevine at the game, that words from radio commentary spread quickly amongst the fans...!!
On another not i was pleasantly surprised by "thommo"on 6pr, thought he may have been an apologist and suggested 5 weeks, he said 7!. Very surprised by his stance.

Didnt wc fans also boo when Hird copped knee to the face at Subi and had blood pouring from hi face ( my rusty memory here folks)

I think it might have come out of prisons where informants were called "dogs" but it could also just refer to someone being a dog or doing something low....not sure.

There’s no positives whatsoever in this for either player. Brayshaw will mend, but he’ll always remember this moment. Gaff will never forget nor forgive himself. It’ll be interesting to see how his on field performance will go when or if he gets back on the field. The Eagles and in fact, the AFL have copped a black eye out of this.
Of course, there’s also winners. Old Tommy gets his name back in the papers, Rossie is a free man and the media have something for another week or two. (Do they know there was a quake in Indonesia?)
If the cops get involved, it will set a precedent and God knows how it could affect our game going forward. I know they did with the Matthews incident, but that was then and today we are a soft loving community now!!

If I punched someone at work I'd probably get the sack and could well face criminal charges. The footy field is a workplace for AFL footballers so no difference for mine. Yes, it's a physical contact sport but I think Bazza sums it up pretty well in an earlier post where a player gives implied consent to physical contact during game if it's within the rules just by taking the field. That consent is withdrawn where someone does something that's outside the rules and clearly that's the case here.

A dog act is something decent humans wouldn't do . A dog would bite the hand of its feeder or anyone just for the sake of it. NEVER trust any dog.
